The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

So because they make a good living in the public eye, they are no longer entitled to an opinion? GTFOH.

Personally, I don't give a crap about their politics and therefore I don't pay attention to their opinions. This country would be better if more people kept their opinions to themselves... especially those JW that knock on my door on Saturday mornings a couple of times per month.

It's not a "how things should be" argument. It's a "how things are" argument. If you've ever been in sales you'd know you don't try to piss off those you're trying to get money from

I know a snowflake when I see one.

They are on both sides.

The way you used it was very clear that you didn't know what it means, you can protest all you want but that was clear. The people voting with their dollars are clearly not snowflakes. imo Now people that complain and don't do anything about like.... continue to watch or pay for it... I lose all respect for at some point. They at some point are no better than these man babies in their tights hiding in the toilet.

I don't believe most of the people that have a problem with this need coddling, most are pissed. These NFL babies, have no idea what they are doing, and appear to need coddling.

You need to research what "snowflake" means. It has nothing to do with conservatives, that is really your excuse. For the record, I don't care if they stand, but if you don't see how this is going to work out... you are just as clueless as you were last November and I didn't even vote for the orange man.

Hint: It (snowflake) isn't about complaining, matter of fact, when it was created the character (Tyler) was clearly complaining. You are confused.

How many times in the past 48 hours do you think you've said "I don't know what they're protesting, and I don't care either?" Probably closing in on 20 times. You sure have a lot of arguments for something you don't understand and don't care about.

I think you understand it completely, and you just don't like it. So you go to the VN poli forum to get stroked in your safe space with the rest of the snowflakes.

Oh I understand... there is no protest, they think they are special and need coddling. Apparently, they found a safe space -- in the toilet.

Haha, I don't need a safe space... say whatever you want to me... you are not going to hurt my feelings... there is nothing special about me, that I do know.

I'm not sure what he did that was unconstitutional.

I didn't imply Trump did anything unconstitutional, but that he has little respect for constitutional principle. The president should be a 24x7 cheerleader for speech rights.

But then, Democrats and Republicans are both...flexible, in that way.

I think the take a knee protest is too vague and strikes me as a publicity stunt to get attention without any real goal of affecting change. That is my opinion and as such I am against it.

That said, Trump as president should be above such antics. I've wanted since election night for someone to take his twitter away but alas doesn't seem to be in the cards.

I agree on the first part. The second part I don't, this isn't really about anyone getting anything done in Washington... this is really about if there is an America going forward. imo

"Conservatives" don't say that, and that's a typical leftist BS statement. I'm "conservative", I don't support people waving Nazi flags - never did - never will. My father fought against Nazi's - so you can flap all you want - but you know nothing!

You don't have to support their cause or the people themselves, just their right.

You don't have to support their cause or the people themselves, just their right.

You don't have to support their right, you probably should recognize their ability to carry on with their liberty without interference. Saying you have to "support" means a person has to do something. For the record, I do not believe people have to stand for the anthem, generally, but that doesn't mean there isn't consequences for not doing it, especially if you have contract or you are getting handouts, like say how the NFL gets handouts. And just because I don't believe a person owes anything to this country, I further believe that assuming someone else is going to defend you is not a guarantee.

These are the finer points that are lost on some, maybe I am taking this the wrong way.

That's a pretty calm reaction, don't you agree? As opposed to the left, when they're confronted with ideas or issues they don't like

The left is protesting peacefully in this case and your response is to compare the right's response to their protests to radical left protests from other incidents? It makes no sense. These deflections are so transparent.

I don't think he thought that all the way through.

So, how do you handle things in Septown? Does everyone have freedom of speech, or just freedom of speech if you agree with said speech? If someone's feelings are hurt do you stop the speech? If the speech is offensive in nature do you stop the speech? Who decides which speech is offensive?

Well, there is no protest but he was just responding to the other guy who appear to be deflecting or taking it out of context.

I mean, those guys are free to kneel and people are free to not pay and call them pansies... same applies to KKK party... they are free to say what they want and people are free to not pay them or even call them pansies. I guess I don't get what you are going for here, but I have no idea who that guy in the pic is. Maybe I missing the point, but some of these posts seem desperate.

This is nothing more than big babies that need coddling because they didn't get their candy. What is with all the arm grabbing and hugging? Haha.

The biggest difference is these NFL teams are hypocrites, and the public can withdraw support and funding.

I would say if someone has to do their protest in the toilet - their cause has zero chance of being successful. Of course, their cause here is to grand stand.

I know you are really proud of your toilet demonstration metaphor, but it makes zero sense. This situation really has you fired up.

Your meme makes no sense. This has nothing to do with freedom of speech. So outside of that I suppose you're taking an issue with the way he's responding? Which again, if he were a lefty could be to organize riots
