You're right it doesn't, but you are missing the point. One group of protesters, who represents hate, is viewed by some as simply "exercising their right to free speech". Almost nobody was saying they don't have a right to free speech, that's just the response people say so they can deflect from having to condemn them.

The other group, who is not a hate group, protests and suddenly we're offended little snowflakes boycotting, condemning, and cursing them.

I think it has more to do with the amount of absurd protests that people are tired of. Ever since Trump won, the level to which the left has manufactured outrage has been astronomical. Lee statues being offensive and now Trump pokes his nose into something he shouldn't have and turns the NFL players into courageous martyrs because a radical left wing idiot like Colin Kaepernick can't get signed. I'm more conservative on most issues than I am liberal on most issues. I do think Trump can be divisive and he should've never gotten involved in this NFL stuff, the POTUS has more important things to worry about. Let Goodell and the owners address it. Same thing for Obama when he made comments during the Treyvon Martin case. The POTUS should never make remarks on ongoing investigation.
