The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

You're right it doesn't, but you are missing the point. One group of protesters, who represents hate, is viewed by some as simply "exercising their right to free speech". Almost nobody was saying they don't have a right to free speech, that's just the response people say so they can deflect from having to condemn them.

The other group, who is not a hate group, protests and suddenly we're offended little snowflakes boycotting, condemning, and cursing them.

They were met by "punch a nazi" ANTIFA, who some on the left compared to D-Day soldiers.

And of all people, I'd expect you to see the merits in a boycott. Letting your voice be heard through the free market. Not through rioting, or stupid symbolic gestures that insult, and piss a lot of people off

There is nothing to start. Trump won second the players/owners responded to the tweet, if you don't understand this... maybe you should think harder.

Why are you saying this to me? What does this have to do with anything?

If Trump is trying to distract from another repeal Obamacare failure, then yes....he's won. Congrats, I guess?

I'm more conservative on most issues than I am liberal on most issues. I do think Trump can be divisive and he should've never gotten involved in this NFL stuff, the POTUS has more important things to worry about. Let Goodell and the owners address it. Same thing for Obama when he made comments during the Treyvon Martin case. The POTUS should never make remarks on ongoing investigation.

I agree. He uses twitter to distract, yet people keep falling for it.

The ACA gets repealed by doing nothing, its called collapse. As far as anything in DC, mostly irrelevant at this stage, obviously.

I don't even vote, I don't vote for any of these clowns but he is winning what he wants just about every step of the way.

Think!

I don't support any of them and somewhat. Nothing as overt as trump.

Do you think race relations improved or worsened under President Obama? Do you think they have worsened under President Trump or the racism has been brought to the light under Trump? Do you believe only whites can be racists? Does having a rebel flag make a person racist? Does having a BLM flag make one racist?

Race relations got worse under Obama and it wasn't because white people were mad that they had a black POTUS. Let this sink in....Unicoi County, Tennesse , voted for Obama in 2008. If you're not familiar with Unicoi it is in the northeastern part of Tn on the border in the Valley and mountains. It's pretty much the whitest place on the planet.

No he doesn't.

He is using it to get what he wants, and yes, people keep falling for it.

I hadn't thought of that - does he want to look like a thin skinned toddler who hasn't been capable of leading his party in any meaningful legislation?

Mission accomplished, I suppose.

People are so easily distracted by meaningless "issues" such as these. Meanwhile, individual rights erode on a consistent basis.

There is no hope for this country of useful idiots.

Its irrelevant. The problem is you don't think. All this crap in DC is just that crap. The coming years is about whether this is truly a country or not.

He isn't in a party... he destroyed both the parties.... welcome to 2016. All this party crap is just that crap, wth are you talking about. What exactly do you think Trump did to the Republican party? He blew them up. You are so wrapped into your delusion that you can't see the obvious. Do you actually think up your comments or just recite them from CNN? That is why you sound like, a freaking parrot. Legislation this, party that... keep going parrot.

Whatever you say. :)

So has anyone addressed what the endgame of the kneeling is? What change exactly do they demand? How do they plan on assessing the change?

I think I found something

White people, here are 10 requests from a Black Lives Matter leader

1. White people, if you don’t have any descendants, will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably one that lives in generational poverty.

2. White people, if you’re inheriting property you intend to sell upon acceptance, give it to a black or brown family. You’re bound to make that money in some other white privileged way.

3. If you are a developer or realty owner of multi-family housing, build a sustainable complex in a black or brown blighted neighborhood and let black and brown people live in it for free.

4. White people, if you can afford to downsize, give up the home you own to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.

5. White people, if any of the people you intend to leave your property to are racists *******s, change the will, and will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.

6. White people, re-budget your monthly so you can donate to black funds for land purchasing.

7. White people, especially white women (because this is yaw specialty — Nosey Jenny and Meddling Kathy), get a racist fired. Yaw know what the **** they be saying. You are complicit when you ignore them. Get your boss fired cause they racist too.

8. Backing up No. 7, this should be easy but all those sheetless Klan, Nazi’s and Other lil’ dick-white men will all be returning to work. Get they ass fired. Call the police even: they look suspicious.

9. OK, backing up No. 8, if any white person at your work, or as you enter in spaces and you overhear a white person praising the actions from yesterday, first, get a pic. Get their name and more info. Hell, find out where they work — Get Them Fired. But certainly address them, and, if you need to, you got hands: use them.

10. Commit to two things: Fighting white supremacy where and how you can (this doesn’t mean taking up knitting, unless you’re making scarves for black and brown kids in need), and funding black and brown people and their work.

Take your meds kid, no one wants you to blow a gasket your first week in the PF.

Not a kid, no meds -- if I had to hang out with your stupidity, I might have to take some serious drugs. But going down to your mom's basement is a long walk.

The late, great George Carlin always put things in perspective with brutal honesty.

Most all company policies have the words "may" and "should". That gives management the discretion to enforce, not to enforce or what level to enforce.

If you had any real world experience you would know this.

Discretion being the operative term. It's up to them to take action against it. They aren't and it's annoying the piss out of old, white men.

I guess the upper management/ownership in the NFL doesn't have the 'real world experience' that has made you such a pleasant, happy human. Lol.

And the public has the discretion to pull personal and public funding and to voice their concerns, I see no issue there.

You meaning the old white owners? Haha.
