That's not on insurance companies. Insurance isn't the problem here. The way government regulations and insurance companies are, certain doctors have to charge higher than they normally would...especially on people with no insurance or an out of system insurance plan, because otherwise they will not be paid at all
We used to get a regular update to cents on the dollar Medicare reimbursement and it changed our priorities. We used to joke about not coding someone until they answered if they had a flu shot. Because those metrics determined repayment. The way government regulations and insurance companies are, certain doctors have to charge higher than they normally would...especially on people with no insurance or an out of system insurance plan, because otherwise they will not be paid at all
Things like Medicare fraud forced insurance companies to question everything. You also want insurance companies to question everything along with the patients. Can it be frustrating ? Sure. Without a check, premiums sky rocket..gov regulations on Medicare reimbursement forced insurance companies to make demands upon healthcare.
I am ok with questioning, I'm Even more on board with fraud prevention. The .Gov is not set up for efficiency or fraud prevention. Look at the failed systems they already run into the ground fraught with graft and waste.Things like Medicare fraud forced insurance companies to question everything. You'll never catch me defending Gov programs lol.I am ok with questioning, I'm Even more on board with fraud prevention. The .Gov is not set up for efficiency or fraud prevention. Look at the failed systems they already run into the ground fraught with graft and waste.
I don't have an answer as there are traps to every solution. I know i do what i can at my level to cut back on unnecessary stuff while making sure pts are safe and treated properly.
Whatever happened here is not representative of socialized medicine in general. Just as NK medicine is not representative of that in Europe. This all started when someone claimed, in jest, that Kim could not possibly have been killed because NK has socialized medicine. My point was that it happens all the time in the US system and our system has more malpractice than many other nationalized systems. Prove me wrong.
The reason we rank low is because of cost, not the actual care we get.
If you make it universal the price will go down and the actual care we get will be nonexistent.
Just stop. People are waiting 6 months for an MRI on a torn ACL in Canada. This is the fear you've been told to have, in reality - that's not the case at all. The US healthcare system isn't even close to being "better" than those of our technologically advanced peers. To put it in perspective, we're buying a Chevy at Ferrari prices.
This idea that the US healthcare system is somehow superior is nothing more than a narrative sold to you by insurance companies through the mouths of their bought and paid for politicians... And it gets LAPPED up.
Educate yourself before regurgitating what you've been told to believe.
So even by the political agenda driven “rankings” the US ranks in top 10 out of what 345 countries? “Cost related” is a bullsh*t stat because it’s not counting Medicare/Medicaid funding and because the US citizen pays more on average than someone in Sweden but only at the bill, not in taxes which costs much more there. I’m not saying the US healthcare is perfect in any way but the care is miles and miles ahead of other countries. Not even close. I’ve regularly hosted groups from other hospitals in other countries and it’s like the Third World seeing a computer for the first time. They are amazed at our efficiency and quickness along with the medical innovations and how we go “overboard” with full quick assessmentsThis is the fear you've been told to have, in reality - that's not the case at all. Key findings: The U.S. ranked last on performance overall and ranked last or near last on the Access, Administrative Efficiency, Equity, and Health Care Outcomes domains. The top-ranked countries overall were the U.K., Australia, and the Netherlands. Based on a broad range of indicators, the U.S. health system is an outlier, spending far more but falling short of the performance achieved by other high-income countries. The results suggest the U.S. health care system should look at other countries’ approaches if it wants to achieve an affordable high-performing health care system that serves all Americans.
My MRI statement is all you need to know. If I have a torn knee I don't want to wait a year to get it fixed.Perfect, seize on an outlier to shore up a defeated argument.
You suggested the care and outcomes would be "nonexistent", the data says otherwise. In fact it shows how COMPLETELY wrong you are. Perhaps you could trot out another anecdotal fringe issue that will demonstrate on how the data is wrong?
“Most troubling, the U.S. fails to achieve better health outcomes than the other countries, and as shown in the earlier editions, the U.S. is last or near last on dimensions of access, efficiency, and equity.”

So scrolling back a couple I see “Biden can’t speak” followed by LG “Trump Trump Trump TDS” which you followed with “but what about Trump covfefe” what did I leave out
"Get sick". The leading cause of death is the most preventable. Government run healthcare isn't going to change that.
I've used private and government run healthcare. One thing I always noticed, my private doctor never had to pick up a book and look through conditions to diagnose something...
That being said, government run health care will just keep a small percentage of Americans from losing all their money. Thats all.
