The tide is about to turn in UT recruiting

I don't, but I don't count losses as accomplishments. You do. You might want to look in the mirror, or start pulling for the Wildcats in football. You might fit in better there.

you, sir, are nuts. yea, let's have cody sullins block terrence cody. that's fair. wait till we get some talent in here, then hate...

That was a great accomplishment, but like i said before we are losing a lot of seniors at key positions so dont be surprised to have another 7-6 season again next year.

That is what i expect next year with a shaky o-line and no QB. now 2011 on the other hand... watch out.

better than being too naive to not lower your expectations when you don't have the talent to beat those upper echelon teams...

Upper echelon teams according to Lord Vader:
Ole Miss
UCLA
Auburn
Virginia Tech

VT is debatable, but I think most would agree they are a middle level team. The other three are obviously not upper echelon. Excuses are fun, but at the end of the day, we didn't have a good year. I encourage you all to realize this.

Being realistic is negative when everything surrounding your athletic program is negative I'm afraid. Let's hope 2010 brings a new start.

fyp... VT is debatable? Most would agree that top 10 teams are a mid level team? hahahahahahaha...

You are not being realistic. You are being just about as unrealistic as you can get with your expectations. All you hand-wringers are hilarious. I love it...:eek:lol:

I don't recall LV ever saying UCLA or the barn we upper teams. Crompton played like **** against Ucla and our special teams and anemic offense lost us the auburn game. u sir, are insane.

Feel free to find the highest ledge/cliff that you can, wave goodbye, and jump. Eeyore is cute when he's an animated donkey for disney. Real life doom and gloom asses... not so much.

Time proved that UT very much had a QB... he just needed confidence and someone to catch the ball for him. Crompton was almost playing by himself vs VT.

your crazy out of 6 loses 4 are to teams that are in the top ten or have been at some point during the season..we did pretty well being we are a middle of the pack type team right now.

Crompdaddy did prove himself. I was refering to next year :hi:

You aren't being realistic. Realism accepts what is. You are assuming what is... Your subjective perception is your basis for saying "everything surrounding your athletic program is negative". The facts simply don't support that mostly because the "facts" of this recruiting class aren't all in.

I think they'll do the same with Stephens if they can get some OL play and the WR's stay healthy. In fact, he'll have alot more to work with at WR. Thompkins looks ready. Moore, Jones, Stocker, and maybe A Rogers will give him experienced route runners. Teague looks like a playmaker in development.

UT's WR position is one area that looks like it will be significantly upgraded over this year... and that makes a world of difference in how a QB looks.

Get over yourselves. We're looking to recruiting stalemate our main opponents. We do that, we'll win our share and compete for the right hardware. It's that simple. We stalemate, or close, and in a couple years we'll be competing favorably. Nobody is going to run away with this league any time in the near future, UT included. UT will wu its share if we continue this path. OLine needs the most help. It's coming. WRs next and they're coming. Thereafter, we need defensive back seven, but we're young there and can get better.

We've recruited to our needs better than anyone. Get over the ranking crap that places emphasis on CBs and slot receivers moreso than good tackles and guards.

Again, I'm optimistic that things are heading in the right direction, I just don't live in fantasy land where going 7-6, and getting demolished in your bowl game is a good season. Sorry, but I just don't. I'll admit, maybe my expectations weren't realistic in retrospect, but I did think we could compete with VT. I still don't think they are 3 touchdowns better than we are. I'm very disappointed in that result. We could have taken a big step in that game, even keeping it close. We didn't. That's a disappointing end to the season. Apparently I'm crazy though, because VT was ranked #11, and we were lucky to be mentioned in the same breath as such a storied program.

i agree 100% about the WR. i think that will be a major strong point next year. im worried about the o-line. we look to start at leased one freshman, if not two. if the o-line can hold up then that could add 2+ wins for us next year.

Holy crap look at Nietzsche over here.

You said "athletic program" and then switched the subject to "recruiting class." I'm talking about the entire program as a whole. I would agree, the only thing positive about our program in the past year has been our recruiting, so when it takes a hit (as it has of late), it is somewhat troubling.

If you don't think most everything surrounding our athletic program of late is negative, well them I'm sorry, but I can't do much for you. I really suggest you take a step out of your bubble.

I like it. I'm on board man. This is how a grown up responds to concerns. Not "lol, jump off a bridge."

It was an awful season by historic standards, but we are clearly in a rebuilding mode after a decade of apathy.

I think we did well seeing as VT had 4X more talent then we have. 7-6>5-7. i mean come on. there was no way we were going to go 9-3 or anything close to there.

1,000 post WOOO!

Sorry, but they don't have 4X the talent. They just don't. Granted, they had some matchup advantages over us clearly (their d line against our o line), but otherwise they aren't 21 points better than us talent wise. I don't buy that.

Anyway, I think we've run this topic into the ground.

they easily do. their tallent was way better then ours. the may not have been 21 points better then us. we could have made it closer with moore dropping that touchdown and pretty much the whole team minus a few players gave up.

Done arguing. you obviously aren't going to change you narrow minded view anytime soon,

At a minimum, I don't think it's worthwhile to argue with someone who can't read and write at a 5th grade level.
