The Tiger Woods saga

So was David Duval before all his injuries. He had the makings of an all time great.
True, but Duval only won 1 golf tournament this century in the U.S. in the year 2000. He won 2 out of the U.S. in 2001, one in Japan and the British Open. He was done after 2001.

Misinformed post of the year

I don't think it...I know he faced golfers that could dominate golf courses. Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson are at least as good as any mentioned here.
I like Mickelson's chances of finishing second in the U.S. Open any time he tees it up. Els was able to win his 2 U.S. Opens in playoffs against Monty.

deja vu...
I saw Boo hitting on the range at Fox Den maybe 15 years ago, and remarked about how well he struck the ball, the flight, the sound, etc. I had never heard of him, and said that he must be a poor putter, or he would be well known. I read that he was the only pro who hit over 70% of greens in regulation from a stat I saw for a 5 year period, starting in 2010.

Do you suffer from dementia?

Nobody is better than any pro 1972 saw on the range.

It's troubling that he can't remember conversations from just a few months ago, but can remember the ball striking abilities of players in the '70s and how much better they were than Tiger.

(and since this will confuse him, I know Boo Weekley isn't from the '70s)

Look up greens in regulation, distance from the hole, etc. Boo is a great ball striker. I'm not saying that Tiger wasn't or isn't. I'm not saying that Boo is a better golfer or winner than Tiger. I am saying he is one of the best, if not the best iron players on tour. Stats don't lie. Graham DaLaet is another. Hunter Mahan, Bubba Watson, D.J. Trahan, etc.

Don't be an ass. I have an opinion that you don't agree with. Fine.

lol, you're the one re-spewing the exact same lines. Don't call me the name. We went for a joke, you air balled.
Maybe there are people on here who didn't read the lines that I spewed the first time. It doesn't make them any less valid. Why don't you show me some stats that say Boo Weekley is a hack tee to green?

whooooooooooooooooooosh

(I do give you props for YET AGAIN moving the goal posts. Classic '72 move)

For your information, Tiger led the tour in 2008 with 71% G.I.R. This year, Kyle Stanley leads with 71.78%. Spieth is 2nd. There are 6 players over 70% this year. Tiger dropped to a little over 60% his last couple of years.

Calvin Peete led the PGA in GIR in 1981. Just wanted to let everyone know.

I was just being a goofball about it, until I saw that name pop up in my birth year.

He led the Tour in driving accuracy about every year when he played. He played with a crooked left arm that was broken and not set when he was young. It seems to me that he would hit about 80% of fairways. He was also one of the first and only pros to play with the old feather light irons that swingweighed about c-2.

He's never been able to consistently hit fairways, "dialed back" or not.

Yet he could hit any shot from anywhere back onto the green, or at least in a favorable spot to chip from. Everyone loves to read stat lines, but that's what made Tiger such a great iron player. And once he got on the green, his putter was his best friend.

Hope you're not trying to say Kyle Stanley is as good with his irons as Tiger was with his. Proximity to the hole has to be factored into the equation as to whom are the best iron players.
