The Tiger Woods saga

I never saw those 3 act like spoiled children. Maybe you did.

The only legend I've ever seen in full on meltdown mode is Arnie.

I don't think there's any doubt that Tiger has an a-hole streak that's easy to dislike. I just think it's a little more prevalent than some others do.

So because you didn't see it that means it never happened?
Okay. Gary, Tom, and Phil are way worse people than the little spoiled Tiger cub. There are many more negative stories about them to be found online than you could ever find about Tiger. Tiger is the greatest human being ever to tee it up.
Google Tiger bad behavior and read many first hand stories of people taking their families to golf tournaments, and being taken aback by his behavior.

I just did some research. Seems that every professional golfer on any of the 3 tours (PGA, Web.com and Senior) were once former alter boys, have helped little old ladies cross the road and took the Eddie Haskell Sucking up course. Except Tiger, of course.

I don't give the first damn about the feelings of the media. There may not be a job with a more inflated sense of self worth than that of a sports writer. You want to see temper tantrums? Catch a writer who doesn't get 'his' story.

you act like someone who almost went that route.

Bottom line is that the good guys for the most part are always looking in.

Tiger has burnt bridges and upset people, yet he's the most successful golfer of our lifetime and one of the GOATs

Phil has more ahole stories than most other PGA players combined but the media loves to tell his family story so he gets a pass by and large from the media

Bubba literally might be bipolar and is the least liked amongst his peers.

Rory had a nasty breakup with his fiance and #1 tennis player in the world before he rose to fame.

Steve Stricker is as nice a guy as you'll find on the PGA Tour. Rickie took heat for his look, but no one denies his demeanor. Kuchar and Sneds didn't battle the looks issue that Rickie did, but they are still loved for their kind ways and gentleness. But what's different about these four the first ones I mentioned? They're always stuck on the cusp of greatness looking in.

MJ is considered a ahole, so is Kobe. Guess where it got them? The mountaintop. Just like it did for Phil, Tiger, etc. I'll take arrogance and confidence every day if I'm picking someone.

As for Spieth, he seems like a nice guy, seemed like a great kid in the AJGA too when I was following him. But Tiger was supposedly the exact same until cameras started following his every single move and his quest up the ladder reached unforeseen heights.

I would rather see someone show some respect and control in a gentleman's game. Hockey and golf are different.

"Gentleman's game" is your definition not everyone's. It's just a game. Been plenty of Aholes before tiger and there will be more. For all you know Spieth was doing shots out of a strippers belly button last night. As long as nobody is cheating or damaging the course who cares.

I'm done here. If you like Tiger, you can have him.

They don't all act like selfish little brats when they don't get their way. How many times have you seen Phil, or Arnold, or Jack, or Tom, or Rory , or Gary stare down a reporter or a fan, or act like he was doing them a favor by even speaking to them? There is supposed to be an air of civility in the game. It isn't hockey or baseball when you go to the dugout, and hit the water cooler with a bat, or get in a brawl.

You've obviously missed the several caught instances of Phil talking down to his caddy.

I get just hit a 105 yard drive at #2 at the Players.

I don't think anyone here would call me a Tiger apologist, but if the double down of his break up and anniversary of his father's death was as hard as he let on, he has no business playing this week.

He's in a no win situation with his game.

I'm surprised he let on what he did. And I would expect to see a softer more revealing Tiger going forward because his business will depend on it.

I don't think either of of us have been Tiger fans. You less than me probably. But I have said it before, maybe not here, but as I get older and as he gets older, I find myself rooting for him more and more.

We're rooting for him because when he was winning and making all sorts of incredible shots, he made the game exciting. The players at the top now are just so nondescript it's boring.

I wouldn't call what I do "rooting for him," but I cringe way more when he struggles lately. I want him to do well I guess, but I don't care if he wins or not.

I find nothing boring about the current and up and coming stars. The field is packed with top notch talent every week. Kuchar and Snedeker could've run away from everyone in the early nineties. Now they're struggling to even keep up.
