The Tiger Woods saga

When Tiger turned 22 at the end of 1997, he had 2 majors and 6 wins. Spieth has 2 wins and 1 second place in a major so far. There are 3 more majors and 19 tournaments to play in before Spieth turns 22 on July 27 this year. He may or may not achieve Woods' records, but it appears that he could certainly provide plenty of competition for McIlroy, Watson, etc., which is the question that I answered.
Make that 1 major and 3 wins for Spieth now, with 2 more majors and 17 more tournaments to play in before he turns 22.

Tiger is a has been... He time has come and gone.. Looked like a old man on the course

Lol... I love how people try to write him off when he's probably got 8-10 years of contending left. He just walked onto the course after a layoff and was a putt or two away from top 10ing at the Masters. It was very clear that it wasn't the same Tiger from before the break.

No, he'll never be the Tiger of 10 years ago again. But after seeing the changes he's made and the short game looking ok again, he's definitely not done.

I thought that it was telling that Nicklaus put out a statement congratulating Spieth by complimenting the way he conducted himself "both on and off the course." I wondered if it was a slight dig at Tiger.

Seriously? That's a pretty generic compliment.

Don't forget that he dislocated a bone in his band that he "put back in place," his glutes are probably still not firing correctly, and he was "caught between two release patterns."

It's no secret that some of the older players were not thrilled by Tiger's cursing and demeanor on the course, and his ho chasing off.

I don't think most of the old guys want their careers reviewed for either behavior.

The funniest cursing fit I've ever heard was a 70+ year old Arnold Palmer at a Masters practice round.

There's no way Crenshaw or Palmer could compain about cursing on the course. Tiger's history would be bland if they had the internet age back in the '70s.

True, but with the microphone nearby, the f word and the damn word don't sound that good on tv. Times have changed. Players are under more scrutiny now.

At least Crenshaw and Palmer are pleasant to the fans. Tiger, not so much.

Lol. You're clearly just a Tiger hater and trolling. It's one thing to act like it looks worse due to the technology, but don't pretend like this is something new.

Tell the TV networks to get the mics out of their face. I'd rather see somebody be real than "put on a face" for the camera.

I am a Tiger hater, but it is due to his selfish arrogance. He was raised to think that the world revolves around him. He is a spoiled brat, and I enjoy seeing him struggle.

Golf is supposed to be a gentleman's game. If you want to watch people throw a tantrum, there is always tennis , and basketball.

Then why watch golf at all? Because just about every guy on tour has spent most of his life in a country club or being catered too since he started swinging a club.

They don't all act like selfish little brats when they don't get their way. How many times have you seen Phil, or Arnold, or Jack, or Tom, or Rory , or Gary stare down a reporter or a fan, or act like he was doing them a favor by even speaking to them? There is supposed to be an air of civility in the game. It isn't hockey or baseball when you go to the dugout, and hit the water cooler with a bat, or get in a brawl.

I don't give the first damn about the feelings of the media. There may not be a job with a more inflated sense of self worth than that of a sports writer. You want to see temper tantrums? Catch a writer who doesn't get 'his' story.

There are infamous stories of Phil acting like a complete jerk. Tom had alcohol issues. Gary was thought by many to be holier than thou and had cheating allegations. That's not to say they're bad guys; they've just all had their moments.

It's okay to belittle some schmuck for trying to do his job?

I never saw those 3 act like spoiled children. Maybe you did.
