The Tiger Woods saga

Woods shot his worst 72-hole score ever with a 302. His +14 was his 2nd worst score to par.

Tiger's swinging wildly. He was trying to bomb it from Columbus to Toledo with every swing. He needs to dial it back. He won't listen to anybody so it makes my forthcom I ng theory worthless, but he needs a coach that will show him how much better he could be with a controlled, fluid and relaxed swing.

Yep; too bad that's what everyone has been saying for about 5 years now.

The real facepalm moment will be later when he looks back and this part of his career, he'll probably say "I think I should have found a controlled, fluid and relaxed swing".

He's never swung this loose or powerful. And granted I don'tlisten to a lot of post game commentary, but i don't hear much about Tiger flailing at it like he is right now.

I'll glad when he's not the story anymore. It seems like when he's not even there, they still talk about him.

Once the fear was gone, there was no intimidation factor. Tiger won many tournaments with it. So did Jack. That's gone now thanks to Elin's courage, not having Butch Harmon as his swing coach, and a new generation of great young golfers that don't bow down to Tiger. Oh well. It was a great run for him while it lasted.

He was #1 in the world and won 5 times in 2013 well after Butch and Elin.

I think it has as much to do with injuries as anything else.

overworking his body and mostly the force at which he swung has broken his joints down. Hard to recover from for a golfer. Ernie can play til he's 80 with that easy, smooth swing. You can't last swinging the way Tiger has.

I don't know what joints and or muscles Jim Furyk uses. That swing might last a couple more decades too. I wouldn't dare try to replicate it though.

When Tiger turned 22 at the end of 1997, he had 2 majors and 6 wins. Spieth has 2 wins and 1 second place in a major so far. There are 3 more majors and 19 tournaments to play in before Spieth turns 22 on July 27 this year. He may or may not achieve Woods' records, but it appears that he could certainly provide plenty of competition for McIlroy, Watson, etc., which is the question that I answered.
Like I said here two and a half months ago, 2 majors and 4 wins now, and 1 more major and 5 weeks before he turns 22.
