The US & Our Silly Sanctions Threats

The Trump administration slapped sanctions Tuesday on eight North Korean banks and 26 of their bank workers living abroad, part of the continuing response to Pyongyang’s illicit nuclear weapons and missile programs.

The Treasury Department announced it was freezing the assets in U.S. jurisdiction of the entities and individuals with ties to North Korea’s financial networks.

Now let's think about this. If we continue on this path, how long will it be before foreigners with any assets within our jurisdiction decide to pull out and get from under our thumb? What would that do to the banks?

How many other foreigners are supporting a terrorist regime that kidnaps Americans, tortures them and sends them back in a practically vegetative state to die?

Be careful about lumping everyone in the civilized world with North Korea.

Not lumping everyone in the world with North Korea. I'm asking at what point will our fascination with sanctions start to make people from China, Russia, The Middle East or any other hot zone began to get nervous and just start pulling out assets?

Let's see...

China, Russia, Middle Eastern GOVERNMENTS et al are not, again, kidnapping, torturing and sending back our citizens to die because they removed a propaganda poster from the wall of a hotel.

If you don't think this very specific set of sanctions on North Korea isn't justified, you are hopeless. If there ever has been a good reason to smack the **** out of someone for doing business with that regime, this is the time.

And any of them who buy that system should be prepared to relinquish any f35s that they have or we simply stop selling them parts, maintenance, and training etc...

Not going to let the communists finetune their SAM systems to shoot down our stealth aircraft. The only 1 i can see there that nat have them is Egypt, but i doubt they do also since barry took out their western friendly leader and installed the muslim brotherhood...

How Imperial Washington Rules The World: Sanctions & The Weaponization Of Global Commerce

What do U.S. sanctions have to do with commercial relations between a Chinese company and North Korea?

Well, as the ruler of the world - or, in common parlance, as the world’s sole remaining empire - the U.S. Empire’s rules and regulations apply to everyone in the world. If anyone anywhere in the world is caught violating them, he will be summoned to the United States to face criminal and civil prosecution.

"In September 2009, some New York newspapers identified Daniel Ivandjiiski as the founder of Zero Hedge, and made various assertions regarding Ivandjiiski's background, particularly his Bulgarian citizenship, his FINRA charge and lifetime ban from securities trading, and his father, Krassimir Ivandjiiski's, own controversial news and political website, Strogo Sekretno (Bulgarian: Строго секретно; English "Top Secret"), and Krassimir's position in the pre-1990 Bulgarian-Soviet administration"."

"Zero Hedge is also seen as a source of "cutting-edge news, rumors and gossip about the financial industry". Zero Hedge expanded into non-financial analysis, where its editorial has been labelled by The New Yorker as being associated with the alt-right, as well as being anti-establishment, conspiratorial, and showing a pro-Russian-bias."

US Threatens Sanctions On Gulf Allies If They Normalize Relations With Assad | ZeroHedge

Essentially America's Gulf allies are fast coming to the conclusion that Assad is here to stay, and that pragmatism means opening up relations; however, Washington doesn't see it that way - as its prior long-running covert war has turned to an economic war of economic strangulation and choking off national resources by occupying the oil and gas rich northeast.

On Friday, a top US official threatened regional allies with sanctions should they get too friendly with Assad. The Middle East Eye details the warning as follows:
On a call to reporters on Friday, Joey Hood, acting assistant secretary of state for Near East affairs, said Washington's opposition to the Syrian government would not change unless there was a "major change in behavior" in Damascus.
"With regard to others, who may be considering making moves, we are asking them to consider very carefully the atrocities committed by the regime on the Syrian people over the last decade, as well as the regime's continuing efforts to deny much of the country access to humanitarian aid and security," Hood said.
Hood brought up America's Caesar Act sanctions, which are geared toward thwarting reconstruction of the country under Assad.

Leaked Docs Reveal Germany Is Urging Congress To Thwart Biden Admin Sanctions On Nord Stream 2 | ZeroHedge

Who gives a damn if Russia wants to bypass Ukraine and deny them transit fees? Ukraine has been robbing them and stealing gas for years.

For years going back into the Trump administration, the White House has consistently argued that its anti-NS2 stance is based on the fear that Putin is using the pipeline as a punitive action and weapon especially against Ukraine, cutting it out of crucial transit fees, and eventually seeking to bypass the Eastern European country altogether as a key energy transit hub. Thus it's little wonder why the "non-paper" remained out of public eye and "classified" until now. The main US argument for blocking the line has rested on assuming that Putin wants to hold Europe's energy independence hostage.

Eventually, the SANCTIONS are going to hurt Communist North Korea, and hurt them badly. They are not immune to the effects of the sanctions.

Kim has political immunity, though. He doesn't have to care that much if it hurts Korea because no matter what, he's living large and in charge.
