Wow. Clearly touched a nerve here. If I feel anything, its wonder and amusement, but I am coming to understand that defending uga is very important to some here.

So, I'll ignore the ad hominems and wish you a good day, and best wishes for our Vols and your bulldogs! :)
where was the ad hominem? if there were any you started it (hehehe) with the Voldawg comments.

now you are having to play the victim to avoid what I am saying. Or else you are just continuing to not understand what I am saying.

No 'victims' in any of this. Frankly, I stated my position that I assume Bennett got drafted where he should have been, given the level of analysis that NFL teams employ. I'm just amused with the vigor with which VolDawgs will swing into action with any perceived slight to that program.

Obviously he was mediocre and the weakest link. It’s not as if he won offensive MVP in four straight CFB playoff appearances.

16 passing TDs through 12 games this year with a joke of a schedule. That's puts him around 70th nationally for regular season stats. Seems pretty mediocre to me.

Fair enough, I’ll admit that the passing TD stats seem fairly mediocre in the regular season. It’s also obvious that GA’s offensive plan in the red zone or if holding a lead during the regular season was to bully the defense with the run game. But yeah mediocre fits.

Now look at the post season. Surely these opponents aren’t a joke. 11 passing TDs and 1 int. 3 rushing TDs. Does this seem mediocre to you?

I’m not saying Bennet was an all time great at all. Honestly I think Young, Stroud, and Hooker have a higher ceiling. But to say he was mediocre is ridiculous.

Modern day version of Fran Tarkington, some youngens may not remember him.Look him up !
I get the analogy - small, scrappy, overachiever. But, I will be highly surprised if Stetson lasts 3y much less makes it to 3 Superbowls even if he is blessed with teammates the caliber of Chuck Foreman, Allan Page, and Carl Eller.

For college athletes, they have eligibility requirements. He may not have met them. 6 years and didn't even get a bachelors is crazy.
The requirements are minimum. 6 hours per semester. Even if he’s going on the summer, that’s only 108 credit hours in six years. It’s not even in the ballpark of crazy

He may have just switched majors. I saw a bunch of guys stretch undergrad out that way.
I was one of those guys, but it’s pretty hard for a guy on the football team to stretch it out. He’s majoring in learning design and technology, which is UGA’s fancy way of saying an Education Major .

Cardale Jones trolling haha.

Who cares? This isn’t uncommon
What are you talking about?

It is uncommon for someone to play 6 seasons of college football. PERIOD.

That was only possible because he had redshirted in 2017, and then "opted-in" the COVID year, which did not cost him a year of eligibility. Playing 6 seasons prior to COVID, required a medical exemption, and they are rare.

To play 6 seasons of college football, remaining eligible the entire time, and then not earning a Bachelor's Degree is uncommon. I would like to read an explanation as to how that was even possible. Even without ever taking a class in the summer, and only taking 12 credit hours per semester, it should not take more than 10 semesters to complete a Bachelor's Degree. Bennett was in enrolled in school for 11.

Yes, they do.

They only have to pass 6, but they do have to take 12, while also maintaining a minimum GPA. For you to suggest that this is something common is absurd. Most players don't even play 6 seasons. That is asinine.

NCAA Continuing Eligibility Requirements

One slight correction ... for football, you have to be enrolled in 12 credit hours, but you are only required to pass 9 in the fall, while maintaining a minimum level GPA.

You have to be a full-time student to be on scholarship - which for undergraduates means being enrolled in 12 credit hours worth of courses.

You’re right. Football players not using football for school is absurd. What’s Bennett ever going to do? Destined to be a total failure and never make any money.

oh wait
