The Virginia Gov race

I don't think that's what the voters were saying but I'm not gonna interfere with a good self implosion

LOL. The kooks are tripling down, full steam ahead.

If Republicans win the governors race in NJ I’d argue that’s a bigger story than winning Virginia.
So the majority of the unreported precincts are in deep blue counties where Murphy should pull a double digit percentage point lead. I agree it would but I’d guess it doesn’t happen either.

However the sheer fact that we’re into the next day at mid day and it’s still undecided is still a huge story.

For those of you who followed this race, do you find the R winner to be more conservative, moderate, or liberal?

seems to be more of a throw back moderate conservative - focused on economy, business climate, reducing taxes.

I think the school stuff that's being characterized as "culture war" is grounded in a feeling that schools should be accountable to parents not apart from them. The CRT link is just the latest evidence of the bigger issue of schools pushing parents out of the process and it was a last straw on the bigger issues of excessive school closures related to Covid and general "we don't give a crap" vibe from the schools.

do they want another Trump? because this is how you get another Trump.

I don't know .... but they sure as heck don't want the policies the democrats are pushing.
Higher gas prices and food prices plus NO Christmas this year & it's to be mandatory to have children wear masks for 8 hours a day & the schools teaching race hate towards one another is not what some people want. There has to be a better way for us to go forward & it's not w/the democratic policies being rammed down our throats for everyone to embrace & like it.

Moderate Rs and Ds tend to govern well at a state level. Ironically, they can be mostly fiscally responsible when they don't have access to printing presses.

I would expect McAuliffe to be moderate since he is off the Clinton tree. Correct?

Anti-CRT Parents Win School Board Victories Throughout America

The victory of Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin (R) over former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) has spurred excitement for future Republican wins, but the triumphs in local school board races hold special significance for those parents who fought big battles against leftist tyranny and Marxist-based Critical Race Theory (CRT) right in their own communities.

I'd argue that we don't need the citizens that lean extreme left or right to fade; we just need for politicians to stop catering to them and focus on the vast middle. The wide diversity among the electorate is not the problem other than the current system favors politicians that serve the extremes.

I'm annoyed I can't give this more likes.

Seattle elects Republican as city attorney over police abolitionist

Seattle has elected its first female city attorney: a Republican who supports the police.

Ann Davison beat Democratic opponent Nicole Thomas-Kennedy in the race for city attorney, with a final result of 58% to 41%. Davison's victory comes a year after the city of Seattle defunded its police and in a state historically Democratic since the 1980s, according to the Seattle Times.
