The Walking Dead

Had a feeling Beth was a goner after Michonne told Maggie her sister was alive and their whole group got all happy and what not. It was basically a death sentence.

Terrible episode. Terrible half of a season really, which is an absolute shame given how good the first three episodes were. The hospital crap was just brutal to get through.

I did love the Morgan bit at the very end. That guy can't get back to the show fast enough.

Terrible might be a little harsh, but it wasn't good, it was 50 minutes of nothing bookended by 5 really good minutes. I agree on the season so far, 3 really good episodes to start and 5 Meh episodes. Bring Morgan in already and please for the love of God kill Ty.

A few weeks back I said I be careful what you click when you're looking up Walking Dead stuff online. I saw a pic I'd consider a spoiler.

Tonight was that spoiler.

Well, you got what you wished for. You'll never hear Beth sing or hum again, congrats. :ermm:

Psshhhh, you're still letting the writers feed you from the Morgan tit after all this time? The writers and producers of this show have been using Morgan as a tease for the viewers since the pilot. When they actually have Morgan join the group then I'll believe it but until then, screw them! I refuse to be the horse chasing the carrot.

"That guy can't get back to the show fast enough" =/= "So glad that guy is back on the show now"

Didn't realize liking a well done ending scene with a great character making a rare appearance, made me a horse chasing a carrot. :whatever:

I thought the episode was very uneven. It started awesome then immediately hit the brakes. Then towards the end it picked back up.

I'm really glad the hospital crap is over because it was mostly boring. Dawn was a terrible bad guy. Most of what went on didn't make a lot of sense and their dialouge was just a bunch of nonsense. And that was a terrible stab attempt by Beth.

Its not exactly the same because the hospital stuff didn't happen in the comic but Morgan joins the group around this time in the comic.

What did Beth mean by she got it about Dawn? Was Dawn attracted to Beth?

I thought it was something along the lines of Dawn had to be in control. The deal was done, everyone was going home, but Dawn had to feel like she was in control and work the deal in her favor by getting Noah back. And then rub it in in front of Beth.

Am I the only one who didn't see Dawn as a bad guy simply because she was on the opposite side of the group? She felt more like her groups leader who wasn't equipped to handle a group like Rick's on any level. I feel like this show is a lot more like Breaking Bad now in the sense that Rick and his group are just as bad or evil as anyone else (save a few) we're only rooting for them because we saw them on the other side before they were this way, so we justify it in our heads as ok, because they're OUR crazy murder hobos.

Outside of cannibals and rapists, I don't know that anyone in this world is truly "bad" simply a whole lot of "surviving" going on.

Like I said, I'll believe it when I see it. They've just been dangling Morgan out there every so often since the show started.

If Dawn hadn't beat down Beth on multiple occasions I'd almost buy Dawn not necessarily being a bad guy but she crossed the line.

I think you're getting out of control a bit by comparing Rick's group to other villain groups. Even when Rick captured the cops his only intent was to treat them fairly until he got Beth and Carol back. He gave that one cop two fair chances to act right and the guy refused so he mowed him down with the car. That's not unfair in my book and it's definitely not Shane-esque. Shane would have just shot the guy straight up or run him over without warning. No, I disagree that Rick's group is "our crazy murder hobos".

Oh, and... you ALWAYS do a prisoner exchange on neutral turf. That was the biggest mistake I think.

I kinda see what Daloth was getting at though. Yea, Rick didn't want to hurt the cops he caught, but what was his plan to get Carol and Beth back initially? Go in and kill everyone to get Carol and Beth back.

But I don't agree that Rick is a bad guy now. They're doing what this world requires. If Rick and the group were truly bad guys, they'd be killing other people to take what they have.

As far as Dawn goes, I don't think they were trying to portray her as a bad guy. Just someone trying to keep things together as she thinks best, although I do think she enjoyed controlling others. She shot Beth, but can you blame her? Beth stabbed her with scissors.

Disappointed on how this season progressed. Considering Beth was a non factor for so long, her death honestly didn't change as much. They built her up throughout the entire season for this moment, but now that DC is a no go, it just seems like we're back where we started.

Now I have to sit through Maggie's *****ing and moaning for the next several episodes even though she didn't say one damn word about Beth up until michonne told her beth was still alive.

Where do they go from here now? Was kind of disappointed this season. It started out strong, but the hospital story was horrible. Plus Bob died.

Agreed. They tried to cover it with a great start and a great finish, but everything in between was pretty bad.

Crazy murder hobos is awesome BTW. And I actually get what you are saying. There are very few "good" people let in this type of world. Rick could have simply bumped the guy with the car and captured him. Even though I'm beginning to like this new Rick.

They wonder around some more. They should have done that all season instead of the hospital crap. Nobody is upset Bob died.

I wouldn't even call it a great finish. The only entertaining thing that happened in the last episode was Rick hitting the guy with the car.

I disagree that this has been a bad season. In fact I think it's been one of the better ones. Think about how dull season 2 was from the minute they got on the farm until Sophia came out of that barn. Or seadon 3 from the meandering around Woodbury until the raid on the town by Team Grimes. Then the flu epidemic of Season 4. Now tell me how this season stacks up?

As for mid season finales I do agree this was one of the slower ones. With only 10 minutes to go I thought to myself that nothing had happened. The ending had a nice payoff that actually made me say "Oh ****!" out loud. I never thought I would say I was sad to see Beth go but I really am. Even though her episodes are kind of boring she was still growing on me. I hate that it was such a pointless death too. I mean she didn't even land a fatal blow. She just stabbed Dawn in the shoulder.

As for Rick being more villainous so to speak, I think he feels he has let things get out of control by trying to take the diplomatic approach in the past. He still wants to do the right thing but when he gets pushed he doesn't want a soft reaction to come back to haunt them like it did with the governor and even the Terminus group.

They should reserve back stories to webisodes that are like 15 mins. I think that would move the actual story and could improve on the slow times they have had. Some dissension amoung the core group would be nice, a la Tyresse and Rick in the comics

I said that when I was watching! Right when michonne told her Beth was alive and she looked all emotional. I was immediately like, umm this whole season you acted like you didn't even have a sister. Never even cared to wonder where she ended up.

You make a very good argument, that the show as a whole is overrated. Lol

Personally give me Woodbury or the flu over the hospital, and honestly it isn't even close. I don't even want to discuss the farm, that was just terrible TV.

I agree with both things. I get character development is essential, but do it within the flow of the show. Especially considering these characters are evolving pretty much every 6 episodes.

That was the thing I liked about Shane so much, the inner conflict in the group that he caused. It's the Apocalypse not everyone is just going to fall in line.

I thought the same thing. Lol Honestly I wish she would get killed off, her and Glenn are sucking the life out of each others characters. IMO
