I missed that and I knew his character was gay already...they had leaked that a character would be revealed as gay and many thought it would be Daryl...before they specified it to be a new character.

This, very much this! Seems like some people got bent out of shape over the gay scene. Kind of silly when you consider everything else that goes on in the show. Murder, cannibalism, whatnot lol
