The Walking Dead

I'm confused...

About this time in the comic is when Abe gets killed by Dwight with the arrow. So I'm not sure what you mean by "much like the comics"

haha i'm trying to play up that Butch is just making random predictions so people who haven't read the comics don't get Abraham's death spoiled for them. i'm well aware that Abraham will bite the bullet(er...arrow) tonight, that is of course, should they stick with the comics. seemed better than just saying, "spoiler butch!", as that would probably give it away that he spoiled something.

If you know what happens in the comics.....why the hell should he use spoiler?

Maybe because not everyone has read the comics.

what VSF said :good!: if you're going to refer to something that happens in the comics, but hasn't occurred in the show yet, spoiler it. not everyone in here has read the comics.

it's not about me, it's about others. i want the best viewing experience for all involved.

I'm a none comic reader... some of the Negan banter on here has been mildly spoilerish; especially if they stay true to the comic this season. Spoiler tags are appreciated but I'm personally not a militant about it with TWD as I am with, say, GoT

that's a very interesting prediction.

much like the comics, i think Abe is safe for now.

butch, please use spoilers next time

I don't read the comics and I'm aware that Negan "Lucille'd" Glenn and this revelation on Abraham...also the "spoiler" that Sophie is still alive...cept she isn't...Judith is dead...cept she isn't. Daryl doesn't exist...

You're right...
DamnDude, most of us know the comic plot line by osmosis and they don't follow it as canon anyway. :hmm: translation? Chill out.

It's in articles and recaps outside of this forum. That's how I found out initially and I got more details on here. Part of the intrigue and suspense talking about this show is whether they follow the comic or not. Last season Glenn looks at a bat...a little too long?...why was that in the plot? Unless you simply watch the show and eschew discussing, discovering graphic novel plotlines is unavoidable. Your proposed spoiler requirement is well meaning but just so much pushing a boulder up a hill. :hi:

I see Bigdaddy spanking you about spoilers paid off. :)

if you want to spoil things for yourself, that's fine. it's your choice. just don't spoil it for others.

for those of us who know where the story is going, yeah sure. definitely not for someone who is unaware of where the show is going. if someone had told me that the governor decapitated someone in front of the prison (or
Lucille event
, i would have been pissed. finding out something that's going to happen (regardless if they switch characters for it), still ruins the surprise and shock one would get seeing the scene unaware of it. it's so much less effective.

foreshadowing. mainly something only the comic readers should get.

Unless you simply watch the show and eschew discussing, discovering graphic novel plotlines is unavoidable.

:eek:lol: it is completely avoidable. it's really not difficult.

again, if you are aware of something that happens in the comics, but has yet to happen in the show, spoiler it. it's simple as that.

:eek:lol: i've always been strict on spoilers. bigdaddy deleting my "spoiler" post was absolutely laughable.

makes it even better that firestorm actually does spoil the movie in his post, but bigdaddy just ignores it lol

To be fair most of us never know what the hell Firestorm is talking about. Lol

Point of this is that I didn't seek out comics plotlines and there's no way to avoid it. Abraham probably doesn't meet the fate I referenced but you can't "spoil" something that hasn't been shown yet. I'm a big Michael Connelly fan and was able to enjoy The Lincoln Lawyer just the same...even tho it followed the book almost word for word. Conversely I read Grisham's The Firm and enjoyed the movie more because the plot (and especially the ending) was infinitely better. Don't want to be exposed to source material? Live in a cocoon...no other way to avoid it. If I got an advance peek at a script...I wouldn't share it. They did a godawful version of Noah's story a couple years ago...some of us were wondering how they'd do the shipbuilding, animals and the FLOOD itself...didn't bother with SPOILERS. :nono: Too bad you weren't there to admonish us, huh?

this is not remotely close to what we're talking about lol

what we're talking about is if you hadn't read The Lincoln lawyer, and then 20 mins into the movie, someone told you the ending. the movie would have less effect on you. you might still enjoy it (it def was a really good movie), but you could have enjoyed it better had you gone into the last hour unaware of where it was going.

avoiding comic spoilers is avoidable. how do i know? cause i did it for almost all of Game of Thrones. and I'm a loser who is online a lot. don't live in a cocoon at all.

You're wasting your time trying to have a discussion with him when he's convinced he's right.

It takes about 15 seconds to use a spoiler tag, so IMO if you're going out of your way not to use it, you're just being a dick.

Red Wedding was different...wasn't reading the books OR watching the show...and that leaked out. So when I eventually binge watched, I knew some details...even trying to avoid them. I dispute your confidence that I would have enjoyed the Lincoln Lawyer more if I hadn't read the book first...in fact I'll put forth that you're full of self-righteous crap. Same goes for your smug remark that we're not talking about the same thing. Holier than thou doesn't look good on you...but at least you don't change outfits. If I actually KNOW something is going to make it onto a show? I'll use spoiler tags. Otherwise? Put me on ignore and cover your eyes if someone disobeys you and quotes me. :finger3:

I'd pay to watch a 3-way death match. War vs Butchna vs BD...I can get the hype machine rolling.

It was the smarmy "interesting prediction" comment with the equally smarmy spoiler tag directing me to use such, that got my reaction. A decent simple request would have sold me. Now I'm going to do detective work on the graphic novel and splatter it on here like a Pollock painting.

In the blue corner standing at 5'5 135 lbs, he hates spoilers almost more than he hates being wrong. Straight from yoga class, the emoji king himself...Butchnaaa

And in the red corner weighing in at 185 standing 7'6, hands off ladies his heart (and he wishes other things) belongs to Bruce. Hailing from a cocoon in some cat ladies house...its War...Damn...Vawlsss

Last and certainly least, in the yellow corner in his patented "respect the mod life" thongs. Weighing in at 255 standing 5'8, from parts unknown, but more than likely in a seedy hotel with a hooker, BigDaddy...
