The Walking Dead

I thought it was a great episode but I don't get Carroll's sudden change of heart the last few episodes. I thought she was just putting on like she did when she first arrived at Alexandria. Then when she was alone with Maggie she was still being passive.

The beginning of the previous episode showed her putting a cookie on Sam's grave (she feels responsible). She's starting a romance with a guy that says she scares him. She counted how many people she's killed. I think it's clear what's happened to her.

That's what I was thinking too, like she was just lulling them into a false sense of security. That drove a lot of the tension in this episode for me...but it never had much payoff.

Very well written episode! Explored the characters depth and set up tension for future story arcs. :yess:

I agree. Not every episode has to be shoot outs and action from start to finish. It wasn't my favorite episode this season, but it was solid. So far this half season has been the best in a while.

Very weakly written episode. Left you scratching your head for most of it.

Explain why it was "weakly written".

I'll give you the dialogue from Negan's group was cheesy and bad at some points, but I don't think the overall writing was bad. I'll even give you it was pretty stupid of Negan's group to leave them alone and so weakly tie them up, even with Carol acting like a lost puppy. At this point, that crap really shouldn't work with anyone. But at the same time, the last 2 weeks we could be seeing Negan's C team or something.

As someone else has already pointed out, Rick's group has made Negan's group look very weak and stupid so far, and I have a feeling that's because they've been messing with the junior varsity.

You think a C-Team was given an entire outpost?

There is a good chance they were just over confident that no one would/could attack them. They seemed to be pretty well organized with protocols for a given situation. The wall of walkers at the entrance wasn't a rookie move.

There was definitely things to nitpick like Witt's gun conveniently running out of bullets. Or the fact that she mIssed at such close range.

besides some of the dialogue from the Saviors, the writing was just fine. there was some very good character development there.

Again, coming from someone who wasn't a big fan of the episode, in regards to "filler"-esque ones, this one is one of the better ones.

Yes I do because I think Negan's group has several outposts. It may not even be considered a very important one.

I've never watched this, but thinking about starting it on Netflix.

I was in the same boat two years ago. Never watched it and a lot of people told me to. Ripped off all the Netflix seasons, got the rest off Amazon. I thought it would be pretty goofy but it turned out to be alright. If you're going to watch you might want to avoid threads like this unless you don't care about finding out what happens.

Yea I've not read enough in here for it to be ruined.

Worst season by far. You could watch the season opener and season finale and know everything happen to any importance of that season.

Midseason finale was pretty damn important!
Sophie.

Not sure how'd I rank all the seasons apart from 1. They pretty much all have an equal number of moments/episodes of greatness, and equal moments of mediocrity.

Despite a fairly "ok" at best 1st half, this season could end up being the best if they kill it on these last 3 episodes.

Apparently something big is going down Sunday that starts the buildup to the finale, and comic fans know what I'm talking about.

Agreed. A whole lot of...get off my farm, no we ain't leaving...nothingness...get off my farm, no we ain't leaving.

At the time I didn't think it was that bad. Then I rewatched it and....yeah that pretty much sums it up. They had like 3 of the same "Leave/We can't leave!" arguments between Hershel and Rick.

And wasn't that when Lori's dumb ass had a car crash and was the only one driving on the road?
