The Walking Dead

I thought it was a pretty good episode overall but not the best. There was a definite feeling of claustrophobia each time they came to a road block.

But I can certainly nitpick it. Like how did the Saviors know they would be going to Hilltop on that day? When they were blocked off by a bigger group the second time why not just go back the original way and take out the first smaller group? Or even after the 3rd block when you knew it was the first group again so they must have left that first road block? And really they should have known something was up when the groups weren't trying to swarm and attack them.

The Carol/Morgan story just wasn't interesting at all. I know what they are trying to do with her but after the way they've built her up I do t like the sudden. Break down.

Even with all that I still thought it was in the top 3rd of best episodes of the series. Negan's monologue alone was worth the 90 minutes.

It was an awesome episode. If they had shown the death of a character then I think most would have loved the finale. It was an intense episode.

People are griping because of the cliffhanger. That's understandable but at the same time I think many have just reached the point where they are hate watching.

That's the biggest reason but it's not the only reason both fans and critics are slamming it.

And it would depend on who they killed. If it wasn't a major character, no they wouldn't, though some of the critics might soften their stance, but many were critical of Denise taking the arrow.

The group's actions on the road were down right stupid. I get Maggie was in need of help but at this point for Rick to be that dumb just defies the logic of the show. After the second roadblock, he can't figure out it's not going to happen? He really thought trying to carry a sick pregnant woman through the woods was a better option than going back to Alexandria?

Did he know they had the amount of people they had? I am thinking he did not realize they were capable doing what they did. In the end, he decides that taking Maggie thru the woods would be an option. And I'm guessing it would have worked but the Saviors caught mullet guy and made him talk.

How does it feel to be the only person in the entirety of the fanbase defending that cliffhanger?

Let me get this straight...

They go from one road block to the other, with each group getting bigger each time, but you think they wouldn't have figured out they are taking them through the woods without catching Eugene?

As far as knowing how many men Negan had, again, each road block is roughly doubling in size, seems like a guy like Rick could figure out just maybe they have a lot of people.

How does a group of this size operate in the same area as Alexandria and prior to the hilltop they only have one skirmish with them? Shouldn't they have run into them a lot more on scavenging trips?

You are overthinking it.

It is a show based on a comic book......based on a zombie apocalypse.

I've been thinking the same thing. How big is this radius of communites?

Seems like the Saviors would have already raided all the resources around since their group is so big.

Or maybe you're easily impressed.

No. I just don't overthink this show.

I don't treat it like it is a smarter show than it really is. I don't get bogged down by things being unrealistic. I enjoy it for what it is, a show about a group of people trying to survive a zombie apocalypse.

I chuckled at Morgan showing up on horseback unnoticed but things like that just have to be overlooked.

Rick trying to find a way around the roadblocks is easily believable. You can explain that away pretty easily.

Actually, you basically say you turn your brain off. Fair enough I guess, but you can't honestly make a critical assessment of the show. Based on how you're viewing it, I fail to see how it can ever really be "bad". If something makes no sense, is bad writing, etc., you can just chalk it up to "it's a show about zombies." By that measure, it can never fail.

No I'm not, I'm judging it on the merits of its writing, acting and story telling. And this show is trying to be a serious drama, whether you want to accept that or not. This isn't Zombie Nation where it's obvious.

Probably but I'm not blaming that one on the show, because it's mostly the same scenario in the comic. I could be wrong, possibly they mentioned the Saviors in Alexandria when Rick got there, but I think they only found out about them after they met the Hilltoppers.

The roadblock isn't hard to believe given the show and it's subject matter. You're just nitpicking. The scene with Morgan sneaking up on horseback is the one that got me rolling my eyes, but I guess I just choose to not let little things like that bother me in regards to this show. I mean Carl's head gets turned into a cheerio and lives without any trouble and that gets overlooked but Morgan isn't aloud to have a quiet horse??

I watch it to be entertained. This isn't life changing television.

And even if it wasn't a show about zombies, it is still based on a comic book so I consider that it will have a comic book feel at times.

There have been times that I almost gave up on this show but this half season has been great. The story moved along nicely and I was entertained. There have been times where they spent too much time developing an uninteresting story and this half season avoided that for the most part.

Are there any women in Negan's group? Or is it just a big testicle festival?

Of course I'm "nitpicking" because according to how you judge this show, almost everything is "nitpicking".

You consider anyone complaining about the finale as a "hate watching whiner", then congrats, you're now dubbed a "homer fanboy".

VSF,

Someone earlier brought up a good comparison. True Blood was a show that went off the walls and lost a good portion of fans, myself included. I guess the difference is that it just got too bizarre for me to suspend disbelief. It got to where it was ridiculous and I just quit watching. TWD has never gotten to that point with me.

Sure, silly things happen on the show. Rick walks into a trap, Carl gets a bullet thru the head, The Governor keeps his daughter chained up in his house, Morgan thinks putting people in a cell will change their hearts, a horse tip toes up to save Carol, etc.

Are people willing to excuse things that unbelievable as long as they happened in the comic? Is that what is happening here?

My original point was just that I think this show had it's best half season but some people can't enjoy it because they watch the show as if they are a writer for some kind of comic con publication.
