The Walking Dead

I like Negan and JDM's portraying of him; Kirkman was clearly influenced by Batman's iconic villain The Joker in creating Negan... a psychotic, charismatic, wise-cracking, unpredictable maniac that lives to torment others.

I agree with what others have said though; Negan's whole operation is a house of cards and will crumble when he does. Coral could have ended it... Rick has had multiple opportunities to do so as well. (but he's mentally broken)

I wish they would send out a few guys to the nearest military base and find some me artillery and just level Negans compound, that would be epic

By now that would all have been raided. Rick is playing a punk to play the game if all goes as written. Negan by far is my fav villian. Wish he would have hurt more

I am hoping that the leader of the Hilltop dies soon, but he is annoying enough that he will make it to the 2nd half of the season at least...

How many communities are under Negan? Does he always rake the community over the coals the way he is doing Alexandria? Seems like Hilltop and The Kingdom get off pretty lite.

oh i bet all these other communities went through the exact same psychological dismantle....just like Alexandria did.

If you remember when Rick and crew first visited the Hilltop, they used spears for weapons. They already got the orientation.

Not a riveting episode, I'll admit. Probably setting up future storylines. Jesus is a saint. :)

yeah! right?! just simply do that.

just go hit up that still totally loaded-2 year into zombie apocalypse-military base artillery in the next town over, go to Negan's compound (wherever the **** it is), and blow the hell out of it and all of it's many(???) inhabitants.

brilliant plan dude. you'd own the zombie apocalypse for sure.

I think that was salt you put on your corn flakes this morning instead of sugar.

FROM THE TOP ROPE!! :eek:lol:

I actually thought this was a pretty good episode minus the roller skating scene with Carl and Enid which I literally Smdh at. Seriously, what if a small horde of walkers came out of nowhere and they are on skates? That has to be up there with scene in Atlanta that I will leave unmentioned.

It's been awhile since we had seen Greggory so it was a good reminder how much of a coward and asshat he is. The set up to put Maggie in charge was perfect timing with her barking out orders to shore up the walker attack.

I'm just wondering how much time has passed between the night of Negan's intro and the past 2-3 episodes. Seems like a big continuity error. A few days with Daryl who was brought to Alexandria last week. This episode clearly took place after last with Enid's journey but seemed like it was only a day after Glenn died, then only one more day passed during the episode.

Then there were some other dumb things like the truck going to Negan not closing the back door with Jesus and Carl just hopping on with no one noticing. That was just too convenient for the plot.

Take out the Carl/Enid stuff and it was good. But those 2 are terrible.

They have zero chemistry, and no offense, but she's not going to be winning any acting awards any time soon. Also I found it silly that Enid freaked out over one walker slowly stumbling towards her. She was on her own for a good while and routinely goes off on her own, and suddenly the first walker she sees makes her freeze and piss her pants? Total plot contrived moment to let Carl come in and save the day. Also, I thought it was pretty obvious Carl was kidding when he said he just "felt like a drive" but later the dialogue makes it appear Enid actually took his word for it.

Also Simon >>>>>> Negan.

I thought it was a good episode as well actually.

As for the timing the doctor at the beginning of the episode said Maggie had been asleep for a while(pretty vague, could mean hours to a day). From the head bashing to this episode I'd say anywhere between 1-4 days.

What does Carl think he's doing?

What does Jesus think he's doing? Is he going to sneakily jump off the truck before he arrives where he doesn't know when/where he arrives?

Carl is a fool and thinks he can sneak in there and get the job done all by himself. What he doesn't know is he had Negan dead to rights back in Alexandria when he had the gun pointed at him. I don't think anything will happen to him if he gets caught other than Negan screwing with him.

Jesus is smarter and far less emotional. He's probably got a strategic plan to just get close and scope thing out then head back.

I blocked out the "going for a drive" line.

And way to go Carl. You could have just driven to Hilltop. Did you really need to wreck the car?

Pretty less than mediocre episode. Some of the Hilltop stuff was ok, and Simon (one of Negan's right hand men) is pretty fun to watch, but that's about it.

Carl/Enid are terrible. Not sure what I found more dumb:

-Enid actually getting terrified of a single walker slowly approaching her
-Carl proving that he got his driving skills from his mother ()
-the fact that Enid actually seemed to believe Carl was truly "out for a little drive"
-that awkward forehead kiss
-those ****ing damn green balloons
or most likely- the fact that some dumbass found it a necessity to pack two pairs of child size roller skates to take with them into the zombie apocalypse. and that Carnid just happen to find them and use them.

Also, that whole nighttime-zombie-horde-let-loose-in-the -hilltop scene made the Hilltop communtiy seem incredibly small. Surely there would be a bit more commotion or something from other people besides the 4 characters we're already aware of lol

I'm not quite sure why you're still watching.

That whole scene was to emphasize how inept Gregory is at running the Hilltop. No sentries at night by the door, a wooden 2x4 they use as a locking mechanism to keep those giant doors closed.

well for starters, I do somewhat enjoy the show. Almost as much as I enjoy pointing out it's awfulness at times. calm down there sweetheart.

also, that whole portion you quoted wasn't so much me finding the show awful as it was just something that came across my mind during that scene. The scale (size and population) of Hilltop just seemed extremely small there, more so than usual/should probably be. that's all i was saying.

yet you for some reason try to tell me about some purpose this scene is supposed to serve? um ok. wasn't hard to get, considering the characters literally say that out loud. still doesn't really have anything to do with my post, but whatever. and trust me, I've already been well convinced Gregory is an inept leader, thanks.
