The Weightlifters Thread

Is lucid dreaming where you can control your dreams?

My cousin is totally into that crap. It kinda freaks me out. Not that I think you can harm yourself, or anything, just that (like you say) you might ruin your sleep pattern.

He says you have to meditate and plan on doing something small in your next dream. Like turn on a light switch. That's how you learn to control them.

That is some freaky crap.

Totally should make a lucid dreaming thread in the pub so we don't get sidetracked.

But yeah, I've stumbled into lucid dreaming before. The best part is being able to sleep with anyone you want to

I read all about it a couple years ago. Basically, the first step is trying to remember your dreams. This gives you a good idea of how to recognize when you're in a dream. Then, once you do that for a while, and keep track of them, you focus really hard right before bed on something you want to be able to do in your dream.

Eventually supposedly you can get to where you frequently realize you're in a dream and can fluidly slip into lucid dreaming and take control over yourself in the dream.

The hard part is that if you just happen to figure out you're in a dream, without being ready for it, you simply wake up.

And now back to weight lifting haha.

I do this fairly often. Not on purpose anymore. I tried to do it as a kid, it worked, and now it just happens. I realize I'm dreaming but I don't wake up. It can be pretty cool, but if it's an intense dream I'll wake up really tired

That sucks. My future brother-in-law is dealing with one right now. He opted to avoid treating it (surgery). He's in the Army and didn't want to run the risk of being medically discharged.

I just hear people saying its the most inmportant, blah blah blah, you can't build a house on toothpicks, blah blah, etc.

I saw a guy at the gym this week with 19" arms and 15" calves, so apparently you can build a house on toothpicks. I used to admire his arms, but now that I've seen his calves I'm just embarrassed for the guy.
