The Weightlifters Thread

At my gym there's a 65 year old woman who wears a short tennis skirt and a sports bra to work out in. She goes spray tanning, has a huge gut and a belly button ring.

Oh she did. When my wife went to the bathroom she smilled at me. They do it on purpose.

Dude, there was a pretty hot girl working the front desk for a while, and she was always really nice and friendly with me. Once in front of my wife she was kinda extra flirty, and the old lady gave me crap about it. I never saw that receptionist again. Methinks a conspiracy's afoot.

8 reps of 18 plates on the leg press today! Never done that much. Last month I did 3.

Then I remembered why I only do leg press once a month, reracking 18 plates is a beeotch.

Probably the equivalent of squatting 315 x 8 with proper form. Leg press is an ego stroker....... but not really.

You guys ever tried fasting? There's a lot of different types. My massage therapist is really pushing me to try it. She says its like pushing a reset button.

Sounds like BS, man. How is fasting going to affect your lift strength, do ya think?

I would steer clear of that hippy crap. Trying that apple cider vinegar was about as far into holisic medicine as I'm willing to delve

You'll have to go into more detail before I'll entertain it.

I don't squat that much. I stick with 225 and set rep goals. The most I've ever tried is 275. I'm really strict with form on squats because of past back problems.

I don't get it either. I've been doing a lot of Googleing and all I've found is that those that fast swear by it, those who don't swear at it.

I have lower back problems and I usually stick to higher reps with squats and use deep reps. Those work the best for me.

If leg press is all you can do that's cool. I been slack lately but I was doing squats & leg press but stopped doing them just because it was a pain dealing with all those plates. I was repping 400+ on squat & that's plenty.

You hit the gym cause it's what you DO and who you ARE. Motivation not required. It is what it is. When you make that decision, you go about your business like brushing your teeth and filling your car with gas. It's life.
