The Weightlifters Thread

I've been on a pretty intensive hammy workout for 4 weeks. My quads are overly dominant and my hammys are too weak. Therapist has me on a 12 week program to stretch & strengthen to balance me back out. I've been this way for years after several hamstring injuries in highschool. I gotta say, I've got a really high pain tolerance, but this ish hurts!

I've been focusing on hammies a lot more recently, as I feel they are a weak point. Wide squats, good mornings, Glute-ham raises... Trying to incorporate a lot more for them.

I'm not overly sore today, but I can definitely tell I did legs yesterday.

Glute-Ham raises are actually enjoyable. Goodmornings are really not, those hurt.

:pukeb:

Almost completely cut caffeine out of my diet for the past 6 months. Just did a scoop and a half of jack3d before my workout. I raged all over the place, but I'm paying for it, now.

Craaaaaaaaaaaaaashing.

I think it's just a caffeine crash right now. I love that stuff. Thinking about starting another cycle of it. I just took some today, because I really wasn't feelin it, needed a boost, and didn't have anything else on hand.

Is it bad to just take one serving of it like that without actually starting a 6 week cycle of it? I really just needed the caffeine. But MAN that was a good workout.

You should only take stimulant pre-workouts if you need a boost (not all the time), the more you take it the less effective it becomes. I only take a pre-workout every once in a while when I need a boost.

Hmmmm.. I had heard in the past that anything with creatine in it was more effective when taken steadily.

Whoever would make it illegal to do bicep curls in the squat rack, I'd vote them for President

As much as I believe in a free society, I think I might be with you on that one. I had these twin brothers at my old gym that would do like 15 minute curl sessions on the squat rack. Maddening.

I understand the frustration, but straight bar curls are much better bicep exrecises than EZ bar ones, and at most gyms(mine included) the only places to get straight bars are the squat racks or the benches. And lets be honest, the benches get a lot more traffic in the gym than squat racks do. So it's a lesser of two evils kind of thing.
