Things I Have Built

This pipe cabinet is my newest project. Quick question VN crew? How much would you pay for something like this?

Solid wood hand crafted piece?... not a pipe smoker so not personally in the market but if I saw such an item in a store I would expect a $250-300 price tag on it.

That's is sweeet! If I had the money to buy it I'd easily pay around 100$, but I do not know what all is included with it when it's finished.
Nice work man, I was just trying to think of what to do with my pipes, they just sit in an old Cherokee Indian clay bowl and look disorganized.

And I guess the right side is for your churchwardens?

Correct.

It has been fun. Redwood and walnut.

Still have to seal it and add a hanger but I like my first attempt at a reclaimed wood flag

Thanks for the info. Not worth it to build a few and market it then for sure!

Don't take my word for it. I was going minimum. Could definitely fetch more. Go to a pipe shop and get their opinion. They would know the market way better than I.

Whatever your material cost is then factor in your time and so forth.

Oh I know what I would want for one if I built another.

What's the dimensions? Can you store jars of tobacco in the cabinet area? I have 5 jars that hold 2 pound each, I'm aging some navy flake, orlik golden sliced , take 6, autumn evening and night cap.

I like to see the jars so I can inspect them occasionally as I walk by when I'm not down to smoke.

I want something like a mini bar that hangs on the wall alone for my humidor and pipes

Seriously though....that's a good looking cabinet..... what other types of things have you made?

Oh I tinker all the time. I've carved pipes. I've built homes. I've built tables. I've built banks and schools. I want a big shop! All I have has is my work space in my basement that's 9 x 16. I get a lot done though!!

I've been dying to build something, I only have a carport right now, when we close on this house I'm going to start pricing a shop, my tools sit in storage screaming my name !

This is my third attempt at a relief wood carving. I learned a lot on this one as it didn't turn out quite as well as I'd hoped. The wood needs to be a solid piece and not what you typically find at Lowes to avoid different layers of hardness. I also tried to add some color to it and experimented with it..... not thrilled with the results. I still have some touch up work to do and may try to sand off some of the paint and experiment a little more.

Not bad. Do free hand it or use a template?

A little of both. I'll sketch the general idea on the board with a pencil and then make additions and etc as I go. If I do another one as big as the fisherman again I'll lay everything out. By not doing so on this one I made some serious goofs.

I won't use plywood ever again either.

My storage shed. 12'x16' with a steel entry door and a double barn door on other side. 2 windows.

My deck. 12'x24'. PT pine. Black PVC balusters. Still looks pretty good for 11 years old. Cabot redwood semi-solid stain.
