Things I'm happy about today

I am happy that my mom had her carpal tunnel release surgery done yesterday. She was really scared bc she doesn't do well with medications. They did it under straight local. She'll have right hand done in 2 or so weeks. She's so zonked on Motrin that I can do anything I want to in her yard. And, she can't swat me, haha!

Thanks for asking! 6 weeks post op. I have full range of motion, electric shocks stopped, and I don't worry about dropping things due to weakness. Still a little numbness; that's to be expected. Could also be peripheral neuropathy. Still I am very pleased with the results. The scar just looks like an extended life line, haha!

That's great! I'm still hoping to dodge that bullet.

It'll come and go. I just got really tired of waiting 3 months for the symptoms to go away. I thought this was interesting (went online to Johns Hopskins and and Mayo sites) it's now being thought that the syndrome is not attributed solely to overuse of one's wrist. It may be a genetic tendency (sorta like spinal stenosis) that is aggravated by excessive use. Anyway, I am happy. Out in the yard again. Until it gets too hot and my eczema flares. Love those inherited autoimmune issues, haha.

That's interesting; I hadn't heard that! I'd like for psoriasis and a couple of other annoyances to be the limit of my autoimmune crap.

In the past, I broke my right hand (specifically the bone that leads to the little finger) and my wrist (Colles fracture) in separate accidents. So since I did a lot of numeric keying for work, with the numeric keypad on the right of my keyboard, I taught myself to mouse with my left, not changing the left-right settings, in hopes of balancing out the workload. So far, so good, although there are nights that I go to sleep with my right hand under my pillows to force it to flatten out. We'll see...

I'm happy today is the last day of our corporate internal audit at work. Being in Finance we're considered the gatekeepers of internal controls for the plant, so it has consumed our team for weeks. We've been fielding questions, doc requests, and interviews every day and it's finally coming to an end!!!! We'll know any findings tomorrow, but I think we're coming out of the audit showing impressive controls in all aspects of our operation. BOON NŌÖGÃS! 😎
