His grand daddy Silas lost an eye when he was less then a year old, he got in a fight with a raccoon. The raccoon died though. The one eye and his size makes him look like a complete BAD ass Gangster Weenie and he is definitely the Alpha of the breeders dogs. Anyone looking for a real dachshund...(not these mini lap warmers) as in hunting dogs...I will happily give you contact info. Their dogs are absolutely some of the finest I have seen. Rummy was a miniature long hair, and no hunter, but he was the best damn lap dog... There's a huge difference between Full Sized Dachshund and Minis...it's not just size, one has a need to work and do something, and hunt, and dig, aggressive chewers etc, and require you take them out regularly, (we also do a trail of rabbit skin from freezer from time to time to keep him entertained, he loves to sniff teh trail through the yard)...and the other Minis just want to cuddle all day, and beg for scraps, and bark a lot. Their both good dogs but diff lifestyles.
