Things I'm happy about today

I thought the feds strong-armed every state to raise the drinking age to 21 back in the 80s, but I'm probably wrong.

Drinking age was 21. I could serve at 18 as long as a 21 year old was supervising me. There was a certification and bonding process as well.

Got my CISSP study guide in the mail. Only 1100 pages. I intentionally bought a used copy hoping for notes and some highlighting, but it looks barely opened.

When I went to college, it was BEOG, NDSL, work-study, and the general scholarship fund. Back then, states subsidized funding for their universities from general revenues, $16,000/yr was a terrific starting salary for a recent grad, and a 2BR, 1 bath post-war VA house in Fort Sanders could be had for $16,500.
