and all of them have actually beaten a decent team.

That's the thing that gets glossed over with ND and Charlie Weis. Their signature wins the past 2 seasons have been comebacks against Michigan State and UCLA along with last year beating us and Michigan during down years. They've folded like a cheap suit and wonder why people don't bow down to them.

I'm not comparing Quinn to Manning.... wow people, please read what I type. I said I think Quinn is the second coming b/c of his skillset and his personality. I'm not comparing their performance... even though Quinn did break some of Manning's records.

Secondly, the article is SIMPLY QUESTIONING WHY PEOPLE KNOCK ON QUINN like he is some sort of villain. I want to know the same thing. What has Brady done to deserve this?

20 teams? List the teams... with their records that are elligible... that deserve to play over ND

I don't think he is saying 20 teams deserve to be in the BCS over ND, I think he means that give 20 teams the same schedule as Notre Dame this year and they would finish 10-2 as well.

Exactly what records did he break of Manning? Unless he played in the SEC or at UT Mannings records don't extend much further than that.

For starters,

Auburn
Arkansas
Tennessee
Wisconsin(I realize they're ineligible, just making a point.)
Texas
Rutgers
West Virginia

That's a start. All of those teams have comparable records to the Irish and all of them have actually beaten a decent team.

Arkansas is not elligible. Again, 2 teams from each conference. Arkansas has 3 losses. Notre Dame has 2. Arkansas lost to USC by 36 points -- Notre Dame lost by 20.

Tennessee. LoL  even my prejudice to the big orange wouldn't be as bold to say this. we don't deserve it. we have 3 losses.

Texas. 3 losses. 2 losses to unranked teams (KSU and TTU). Nope.

Rutgers. 1 word: Cincinnati.

WVU: 2 losses. One loss to an unranked and terribly mediocre USF.

I'm not buying it.

What have these teams done to merit a spot over the Irish?

Go ahead guys.... i want to know WHAT BCS ELLIGIBLE TEAM HONESTLY GOT SHAFTED. I can not think of one team that got shafted. Your hatred obviously stems deeper than your logic.

Arguably, Wisconsin (11-1), W. Va (10-2), Va. Tech (10-2), Rutgers (10-2), have at least equal claim to your spot. Teams like Auburn who should be in but are not eligible because of the two team conference rule should complain about you not having the same rule. The reason that Rutgers and West Va. in my opinion should be in ahead of you is simple: If ND joined a conference, Hell, any conference, they would not be BCS eligible. If the Irish were in the Big East, they have at least four losses, and are lucky to be in any bowl.

Why the venom towards Quinn. First, haven't heard a lot of it, but he should know that even though half of the free world will kiss his a** because he is the Irish QB, the other half will loathe him because of it. There is no gray area with ND, either you are a fan, or you are sick and tired of the backbending that everyone from the NCAA to NBC does for them.

Only 2 teams from each conference are allowed to go to the BCS bowls.

Ohio State and Michigan from Big-10 -- effectively eliminating Wisconsin.

Florida and LSU -- effectively eliminating Auburn. Auburn, by the way, lost badly to Arkansas and Georgia. Unranked Georgia. Notre Dame lost badly to two teams in the top 10. Notre Dame is more deserving than Auburn.

Any other teams?
I believe there are several Notre Dame boards out there you can pollute trying to convince people that the Irish are something other than a media created fraud. They beat exactly 0 good teams this year. Nobody here cares that their eggshell psyched fans believe AJ Hawk's sister in law Brady Quinn got a bad rap. Peddle that silliness somewhere else. We've got plenty already.

i am a VOL fan. but I am not a homer. I am a college football fan as well. I like to look at everyone's point of views. Many fans (like you guys) are so completely narrow-minded that you cant admit when someone has a freaking decent point. I can. Do I like Notre Dame? No, but I don't hate them; I'm not going to sit here and discount everything you guys say b/c I'm a Vol fan, though. this guy has a point. and Notre Dame deserved its BCS bowl.

oh, and by the way: Notre Dame had the 19th hardest schedule. we had the 11th. I can do a statistical research of other teams ranked around them to see if they deserve a BCS bowl or not.

Okay then: he exceeded many of Manning's statistical outputs.

Va Tech, West Virginia, and Rutgers come to mind. Texas finished 9-3, but at least they beat an actual quality team, more than the Fainting Irish can say.

So disagreeing with you makes everybody else narrow minded.

That's the DEFINITION of narrow minded.:eek:k:

They all actually beat a quality opponent. I can understand why a Notre Dame fan like yourself wouldn't understand that concept, given that it's been so long since the Irish actually defeated a team of consequence.

Va Tech lost to Ga Tech.... ND beat Ga Tech. They didn't even win their conference... they didn't even get 2nd place.

Rutgers lost to unranked Cincy.

WVU lost to unranked USF.

I seriously can't believe you guys. So, I'm a Vol fan that can sympathize with an Irish fan and i am immediately pegged as a Domer? Ridiculous. Just because I side with a fan from another team doesn't mean that I'm some sort of scumbag. Listen to yourselves. Wow.

We have no problem admitting when someone makes a good point. The problem is that you appear to be incapable of making such a point.

The whole problem with Notre Dame is they are not in a conference. They are not locked into games year in and year out that is made by the league.

They can schedule whoever they want and if they remain high enough they are automatically in a BCS bowl. So I don't blame them for scheduling 2 great teams (USC, Michigan) and 1 good team (UCLA). If i was the Notre Dame coach I would schedule 10 cupcakes and 2 pretty good teams and as long as you weren't upset by a bad team you go to the BCS with 10 wins, and if you possibly beat one of the good teams you scheduled you may end up in the BCS championship.
