Thoughts About The End Of the Trump Reign

Won't rehash the policy goods that have been listed. Better than average record for 4 years. Plenty of stupid policy as well. On the whole, the good policy outweighed the bad.

Glad to see him go - his relentless BS and overall style was hard to stomach. The media added to the mix and it became a grand pissing match between the two.

Just wish his replacement was more palatable. Also not looking forward to the media cheerleading we're about to see.

The way our media has become worries me more than who the president is...... I do wish that trump being voted would make the parties change the way they do things but that’s not likely since they brought us joe biden.

Agreed. They already try to ignore any corruption or stupid policy of politicians with a D next to their name. After a Trump admin they'll just refuse coverage of any D shenanigans just to make the Biden admin look good.

For the next 4 years it'll be MSM cheerleading of Biden. Regardless of what he does or doesn't do.

Edit: I messed up the "simple" math, LOL. I counted too many cycles, it would be about $1.2m now.
I have no idea what the average interest rate has been for the last 50 years, but I would be willing to bet that if he actually "banked" the $10,000, it wouldn't be worth more than about a quarter million by now. In the stock market, it might have gotten to 3/4 million.

Say what you will, but Chevy finally made the Corvette a mid-engined beast while Trump was president. Toyota brought back the Supra and Ford decided to electrify the Mustang.

2 out 3 ain’t bad.

I'm happy Ford brought the Ranger back too, but I want more engine options than a turbo 4cyl .

As someone who is on his 16th Corvette, I'm still not sold on the new one's looks. I sat in a new Supra Friday when I had my car in for service. I hit my head on the way in. The window opening is small, and the roofline is really low toward the back of the door. It slopes down.

My "interpretation" is factual. If you disagree, tell me what's not factual

Obama's actions were authorized by the constitution. He can choose not to enforce laws against DACA kids. The only problem is he tried to codify his actions. Trump didn't need to do anything. The court did what they did independent of what Trump does. He went after DACA kids because he wanted to, not because the law requires him to. The constitution does not "force him to". That's a fundamental misunderstanding of how the executive branch operates. This has been clear since Andrew Jackson.

I guess you didn't read the link I gave you:

The unconstitutionality of Obama's actions were confirmed when Obama tried to implement a second, similar program in 2014 called the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents program, or DAPA. Like DACA, DAPA provided an administrative amnesty for illegal aliens who came to the U.S. as adults and gave them work authorizations and access to government benefits.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a nationwide injunction against DAPA, which the Supreme Court allowed to stand. As the Fifth Circuit said, the fact that the president declined to enforce the law and remove illegal aliens "does not transform presence deemed unlawful by Congress into lawful presence and confer eligibility for otherwise unavailable benefits based on that change."

Under our Constitution, Congress has plenary authority over immigration. The president only has the authority delegated to him by Congress – and Congress has never given the president the power to provide a pseudo-amnesty and government benefits to illegal aliens.

According to existing immigration law, DACA kids are here illegally and as such they risk consequences. Just like when we go 75 on I-40 when the speed limit is 70. If the cop pulls you over and tickets you, he is enforcing existing laws

Stopped catch and release too I believe and forced people looking for asylum to wait in another country.

I especially liked that one. If I'm going to the trouble to go fishing, I want to cook it for dinner.

No question Biden isn’t a great choice but he can’t possibly be worse than Trump. Here’s a clue. Great Presidents or even competent ones don’t get tossed after one term. Never happens. And Donnie is now acting like the deposed dictator of a 3rd world banana republic. All of this fraud junk is just a thinly veiled attempt to undermine and circumvent the democratic system that rejected him, leave Biden with as much mess as he can and to generate funds to cover campaign debt. His ego can’t take it and he’s throwing a prolonged tantrum. No big shock there. But I am surprised that some of the Republican senators are so scared of him that they continue to assist in the farce. Thought some of them had some backbone and that’s disappointing.
GHW Bush wasn’t competent?

You're not understanding my position. You said the constitution forces Trump to take action. It does not.

He and his wife worked. I know how my family is doing financially and see this as completely probable without the "china money"

And then since leaving office he has reported income of 4mil to 15mil all of a sudden. "Mostly" from book deals and speaking engagements. I call BS on that. no one even showed up to hear him for free on the campaign trail when he did get out of the basement.

That's what their tax returns said. I've been told if there were any issues they would always find it

I didn't get too caught up him being the ego manic he always has been. In an odd way, I was fine with him being who he was. And Id be fine with more presidents and politicians in general being who they are whether that is appealing or not. I don't need to personally like any of them. The media angle was simple, his ego wouldn't abide the rock throwing without throw them back. That is not "presidential" in the way we have been trained to see it. Of course, most recent presidents don't take the questions he was willing to take an answer either. Obama didn't and Joe wont either.

As you said tho, the good policy outweighed the bad. Bout all that really matters to me. Its akin to needed to "like" the head football coach. Don't need to, he just needs to win.

He was made and paid for some honorary practice professor at Penn. 900k if I remember right .

They will definitely find it. I've been on the receiving end of an error. However, they wouldn't audit anyone like him in government. So, he's good.
