Thoughts on Kentucky

I don't care how many top recruits you bring in each year. When you have as many leave early, as Kentucky has had lately, it starts to catch up with you. I don't foresee them collapsing and not making the tourney or anything that severe, but they will take a step back this season.

I just wish it wasn't the case tonight.

This was a great game for them, big lights being down without your starting PG....I think this game will end up paying dividends when it matters.

Kentucky will be fine. If they have anybody they are in trouble. Makes me worry a little bit with them playing duke that close a man down.

That's an understatement. They got good points out of fresh but couldn't run a set play or break. Harrow has a long ways to go but def would have helped. Looking at 6 sec loses.

4 maybe 5. 1 and 1 with Florida, Ut, and Missou. Everything else should be a win.

I was stuck on 3-4 after maryland but I changed my mind. Not to include sec tourney or 64. They have one shooter, no proven point, and will get worked down low.

Who were the ones doubting Poythress earlier? I think he just proved them wrong. Second game of the season as a frosh against Duke and has a pretty damn good performance. I see UK having many posterizing dunks by the end of the season.

It sucks so so bad to lose to dUKe but Curry and Plumlee took over. Nothing our guys could of done about that this early in the season. I PRAY we meet up with Duke again in the tourney like it was suppose to be last season.

Despite the loss im giving my Cats a good shot at beating UL this year. Cant wait

They should be favored in all of their conference games because their tough SEC games are all in mid-February or March and by that time this team will be much better. Barring injury I can't see them losing that many games they shouldn't.

We need more than 5 points out of Wiltjer, he's not on the floor for his D

Poythress is going to be really, really good.

Kentucky isn't as good as they were last year, but still really talented.

this is where i come in - people in this thread that are UT fans keep saying UK isnt as good as they were last year - well no &^$%

there are a lot of final four teams through the years that weren't as good as last year's KY team

this team will be very good in March - they went on the road against a top 10 team heavy with upperclassmen, without their PG (the most important position in Cal's scheme) and were right there with them

these guys will mature, gel, and be a very good team by SEC time and tourney time

no doubt they need Harrow - but its not like he has a knee injury - he just has the flu for Christ's sake

this is going to be a very difficult team for TN to beat

It was about 80% Kentucky fans last night. Not sure how much of a road test that was. Poythress is a physical freak. I think he scored the majority of his points on the offensive glass. I'll stick with my 8 to 9 loss projection. Way overrated for the preseason #3 ranked team in the nation.

fair point on away game but i would say Duke is what it is where once KY gets their PG back and these freshman develop they will be much better end of year

are they #3 in country now - no

do i think they have shown anything leading me to believe they won't be that good at the end of the year - no

Poythress is a physical freak.

I thought Poythress played a really nice game - was great on the glass - very aggressive and showed the ability to shoot from outside

he is raw on his offensive moves but he has a LOT of talent
