Possible, but I'm expecting a lot of fouls early on until the upper classmen adjust to new rules.
Officiating will be interesting this season.
How many of the old heads are going to call a simple hand check a foul?
Let's get it on!!!
I didn't say playing Stokes 30 a game would be a bad idea, I said Maymon but mainly I mean early on. As I said in my other post I could see Maymon getting 30 depending on health, as the season progresses. Well it didn't work out too good for Cal last year. Lol How many minutes did Moore average in league play out of curiosity?
Like Yemi? Excellent
So if you're saying Stokes 30 and Maymon 25 that still only leave 25 available minutes in the post. I don't see that being split 3 ways between Moore, Davis and Pops, just not enough minutes to go around for those 3 IMO.
17 minutes per game for Moore in SEC play, however that's when we switched to a 4 guard lineup which we aren't playing this year.
Yea I'm curious to see too. I have a feeling some refs are gonna be enforcing the rules to the highest extent, and then others calling it like last year, consistency is the key.
While it may hurt us defensively it will definitely benefit our guys offensively.
Fwiw...Tennessee brought in a NCAA officiating crew for their scrimmage and had them calling it tight on the new rules. After the scrimmage the officials told Martin that Tennessee did the best job out of all the teams they've seen so far with the new rules, they do a good job staying at arms length he was told.
When was this scrimmage?
"The officials (Wednesday) said they thought we've done the best job of the three teams they've seen (this preseason)," Martin said before Thursday's practice. "We play a physical brand of basketball and defend at arm's length without fouling. I thought we did a decent job. There were still some hand-checks here and there, but for the most part, we did a solid job."
