Three favorite signees?

I mean he'll look great versus some young guys. Especially in run support. He may end up good. I'm not high on him or calling him a bust. I'm neutral on every prospect not name Ignont, Smith or Chandler. This class has more potential than sure things in it. They have to be developed and I'm going to sit back to see what happens.
Yea I think that pretty much just summed up this entire class... What do you think about gray... You think he has the skill to hang around in the back end or does he need to be moved to LB.. I see him as more of a LB (typical hybrid player) or Cover 3 Sky safety... It depends on how they use the strong safety next year either a primary run support player or back in a 2 high shell with him in space.

He's a college kid dominating young guys. That's my biggest problem. A 19 year old has a big advantage on 14-18 year old kids. IMO I'm always wary of older kids in HS. How long did it take him to dominate HS? Why didn't he dominate when he played against guys his own age?

See, to me, this is a good example of both of us seeing the same thing, but seeing it in different ways. Kind of my point in the other thread.

I see the same thing you do, but see it as a young man who has already started maturing as a football player. Ahead of where the normal High School player is. Will it translate to college? Who knows. But it should (hopefully) give him a leg up in the learning process at the College level.

The only problem with maturity and age is that it is different with every kid... I just wonder if the coaching staff put it as a pro or com on is eval...

Now this I can get on board with. If the potential is developed we're good. If not. We're in trouble.

I know a lot about the training of 18-22 year old young men. I did plenty of that in the Marine Corps...and we were training them to do a lot more than play football. That maturity level changes from person to person.

As for the bolded...it would be interesting to know.

Agreed and thank you for your service sir!

Hey, BB what's the difference in Byrd and Shamburger? Byrd was 19,too. You have been singing his praises as a DB in high school. You sure he wasn't just an older player dominating younger competition?

Byrd is a freak athlete and not just on paper. Byrd has a "wow" factor. Shamburger didn't to me. Had a nice video but not the same as Byrd. Plus Byrd dominated throughout his HS career.

I am really impressed with the Chandler kid. He's an elusive back with both speed and power. He has a tendency to look over his shoulder when he breaks into the open. Don't do that. He sometimes slows down at the end of runs to taunt his pursuers. Don't do that, either.
And I've seen him duck out of bounds to avoid contact rather than finishing strong. Never do that, son.

Once he breaks these high school habits, he will be a dynamic running back for us.

Actually, if they've already got a first down, this is exactly what a running back should do. RBs take enough of a beating between the tackles and it's such an injury-prone position, I'd much rather a guy conserve energy and save himself for the next play than gratuitously risk injury for a meaningless extra yard. People who argue otherwise are like those "old-school" coaches who thought dehydrating their players in summer training camp would somehow increase their stamina, when science proves it's the exact opposite.
