Tiffany's Thread (updates and prayers, and a place where she can smack Joe in public when he needs it :)

If she's willing, maybe have her use the cane inside the house, where she has lots of things to grab onto when she feels unsteady. Build up her balance, her muscles, and her confidence, and then head outside!

I have very frequent vertigo, meaning crap balance when it coincides with knee flare-ups, and you'd be amazed how frightening it is to not have something handy to grab onto. Getting back muscle strength in her core and in her legs will help a ton
So true

She's still getting better, still scared without the walker, but we're going to try to go to a cane this weekend. Gonna work with her on the steps tomorrow. Probably gonna be a near future project, go ahead and make the steps a ramp.
My FIL has mobility issues. He actually uses hiking poles to get around. You can find some cheap ones that are adjustable for her height, probably even at Walmart. This will help with balance rather than one cane.

Good idea! The physical therapy girl actually took her outside and walked, and did the steps. Her knees got a little shaky, so she told her what Exie said, use the cane inside. Didn't want her outside without the walker just yet. She's kinda bummed, first swim meet is Saturday, and she doesn't want to go with the walker. I'm going to try to talk her into it.

I say, wear it, and wear it proud! 💕

Oh yeah, couple of things. Stopped by our pharmacy yesterday on the way home to get her a cane. Our pharmacist made her (like literally 🤣) take one of those fancy walkers, got a seat, and brakes. We still got her a pretty purple cane to use, and she did a little inside last night. Pharmacist said she could bring the walker back when she's completely off of it, but she's making her keep it for now. While in Walmart today there was a group of people I know from a local church, they were inside offering to pray for people. They'd asked if they could pray for Tiffany, so we did. Afterwards, the pastors wife handed me $50, and said to use it for anything to help with our trip. We also got a surprise gift of $100 last week, she's saving it all for when we do go. Just awesome little blessings that warm your heart. With all the bad, stuff like that just kinda gives you some comfort that everything is going to be okay.

Gonna explain this tube and flush stuff. This connector is attached to the tubes coming out of her kidneys (one in each), and the other end attached to the tube on the bags. The white piece is a clamp, to close if changing bags, or doing flush. If you don't clamp, the flushing will go to the bag, instead of into the kidneys. The little blue thing is where I screw in the syringe full of antibiotics. It goes into her kidneys, and flows into her stoma to wash it out with antibiotics. Just figured I'd explain a little, so you all would know what I was talking about when I talk about it. 20231111_200549.jpg

You all are in my prayers

Rough night, didn't make it to church. Not sure if a tube got twisted, or she thinks it may be from her sitting in the floor organizing her medical stuff. She woke up crying in pain on one side, finally convinced her to take some medicine, but she was still up and down all night.

Her name was read out this morning during the prayers. Is she feeling any better by now?

Does it untwist on it's own?

She's a little better, but still hurts some. Last night was probably the worst, cause it's hurt before, she was crying for a while. I guess it kinda untwists itself, cause it's come and gone before. That's us just guessing what's happening, it may be something else. I offered to take her to the hospital, but she didn't want to, especially since it eased off some.

Praying. Keep us posted.

O Lord, through the passion of the most sacred heart of Jesus, I beseech Thee to heal Tiffany. We thank you for giving her and her family the courage to face the situations so that others may see your perpetual light shining through them, a beacon of strength that overcomes setbacks, and reaffirms your precious love for all. In the name of Jesus Christ, King of Kings, please hear and bless this prayer O Heavenly Father. Amen

I just re-read this, and it looks like I was suggesting that there was a direct cause and effect going on there. 🤪

Huh. If there is, imma add the Vols to the prayer list.

@Orangeslice13, silliness aside, we prayed for Haley today as well. ❤️

We're going to try something we haven't done in a long time, she's going to sleep with me tonight. She was saying she was lonely, and I think she's a little scared after last night. I've got her fixed up, propped up, with the wedges from the hospital, and a special pillow a special person sent her a while back 😁. I don't even remember the last time she was in our bed.
