In the early 80s, I was riding in a friend’s car when he hit some quail taking flight beside the road. We stopped, he picked up the dead quail, took them to the party, cleaned them, and put them on the grill. He ate them.

Me and my dad had lunch last week and we were talking about all the wild food we used to hunt and eat when we I was growing up. We both agreed my mom's quail was our favorite. It was simple salt and pepper seasoned flour and pan fried.

Remember me mentioning Red clay? He was an English setter that was an outstanding bird dog. Memories...

I thought we might get out early tomorrow after her last race, she has 2, 1 today, 1 tomorrow. Turns out, their relay just so happens to be the very last race tomorrow, the end of the competition 🤣. Guess it works out good, cause the coach and his family are going to the beach from here, and I'm hauling his tents back.
