Tim Banks lost us this game

No QB pressure and no adjustments to stop their TEs getting wide open. We let them get anything they wanted to TEs all night.

I will give him a pass on the tight ends because we are thin at linebacker. However, the lack of a semblance of a pass rush is concerning considering other teams have been able to do it against Georgia

It's not the first time we've either lacked a pass rush or a team got close to their season high in sacks/pressures against us.

I just want to know why we seen what Beck does against pressure, which is make mistakes and commit turnovers so we decide to…not do that at all. Seriously, why are we dropping 8 instead of getting in this guys face? Just mind boggling. Georgia didn’t even play that well either they’re really not an elite team this year but we just **** the bed against them once again.

He's always wrong. Did you not see him say we'd destroy Georgia? Dude is a lunatic
All Vols fans are lunatics. It just depends on the topic, the day of the week, the time of day, and how much betel nut juice and whiskey they put in their coffee at breakfast time.

He's been spectacular all season so I'll give him a pass but his inability to adjust to what Georgia was doing opening up those seam routes for Beck is what lost us this game. Our dline played well against the run. But we got picked apart in the pass game on the same play over and over again.

Also Kirby has Huepel's number on offense. Nico, Sampson, and Squirrel balled out. But the coaches didn't help them.

Huepel and the coaching staff are gonna have to own this loss.
In most cases with modern football, any great team like Ga can make your defense look bad unless your team have an offense that can outscore the other team.

Unbelievable how different we played them than Ole Miss.

They literally gave us the blue print and we straight up said “Nah…we good”.

Heupel had the talent to win today, but not the MIND to win. He needs helps. Bigtime…
The rain helped Ole Miss.

Game was lost in the trenches...NO SACKS/PRESSURES/TFLs...
This combined with no downfield passing game will get a team beat most of the time.

Gotta find a way to pressure Beck in the rematch. Gotta find a way to pick up chunk yardage in the passing game

Went from giving Tim Banks a blank check to wanting him fired.

Lmao.

Ya’ll amaze me.
Easily one of the most reactionary and entitled fan bases. Almost everyone picked us to go 8-4, 9-3 or 10-2 at best. It's like a sect of our fan base doesn't realize other teams have good players and coaches too

I agree. Should have been pressure. But everyone saying they aren’t elite is a silly take also. They still have the best of the best on the field when it comes to athletes.

This is true. Some of us have been pointing out the increasing passiveness of the defense for weeks now.

What puzzles me is the lack of plays for Sampson in the passing game. No waggle or seam routes for the RB. No fancy speed reverses. No TE hot routes. It's like were running the same plays.

Played well in the first half

Look at how we are measuring played well. He had 93 yards passing at the half. So I guess we we are talking game manager, not taking sacks, no turnovers, composure, and making some critical runs with his feet then yes he played well for a half.

Nah. Our lingering loser mentality when it comes to big opportunities lost this game. That mentality is decades in the making and was exacerbated by nearly 20 years of rock bottom program (and athletic department) culture. We’re in a much better place than at any time since 2001, but that mental hurdle still isn’t cleared. And I’m not sure we’re close yet.

D line played the run all night, Tennessee's defense lives on disruption, also why only two TFL.

Our D-scheme or lack there if hurt us. I got tired of seeing the announcers show 6 GA defenders lined up coming for Nico with only 5 blockers and TN 95% used only 4 or 5 rushers none of which were effective.

Several things to me. Obvious, I know:
1. a poorly coached game for TN.
2. lack of adjustments to get pressure on beck. (different way of stating # 1)
3. only 1 downfield pass.
4. TN WR dropped a wide open pass on busted coverage.
5. ga was better than 50% on 3rd down conversion.
6. our pass defense was awful.
7. At least a couple questionable calls but we got beat soundly in the 2nd half.

Good news:
1. we still (according to most) have a respectable chance at the playoff if we win our last 2 and get a little help.
2. If make the playoffs it could be exciting if the team that showed up vs. OU & Bama appears again.
3. we’re 8-2 with wins over 2 of our 3 biggest rivals and ranked in the top 10. This, to me, is significant after the last 20+ years of mediocrity.
4. Nico is playing better and better.
5. Certainly would have liked to beat the dawgs but we are still in the playoff discussion.

GO VOLS!!

They may have elite talent, but that is not an elite team by any means and I’m surprised you think so. This is the worst Georgia has looked in many years.
