Tim Tebow: Heisman Winner

The Heisman should go to the best player in the country, not the one with the best stats on one of the best teams. McFadden is the best player in the country.

Living well is the best revenge, Peyton has shown everybody who the best player was in that group.

Very well said.:clap::clap:

Wow, they gave the heisman to Tebow? I sure didn't see that coming. :snoring:

I think if Dixon wouldn't have got hurt, he would have won it but congrats to Tebow.

a white quarterback from an SEC team? what were the voters thinking?

Congrats to Tebow....it is refreshing to see someone with their priorities in order. He deserved it (more than Woodson did over Peyton) I hate the gators, and look forward the punishment our D-Line is gonna put on him next year.

Just shows the talent the SEC brings to the table!

I don't agree with the two year award thing. Let's say after the blistering performance Tebow turned in this year..he comes out next year and gets hurt - out for season - in the first game. It would be as if his winning the award was needlessly delayed, and then the chance gone thru no fault of his own. Nah, it is as it should be...an award for the best college player in a given season.

Tebow and McFadden were definitely the top 2. My ballot would have had Tebow #1. Tebow was the best player in CFB this year. McFadden had a couple of games where he did nothing. Of course, the 2 big games that I saw each player in, Tebow made TN look silly while TN's defense held McFadden pretty well (which was a shock to everyone on this board).

Woodson has averaged just under 3 ints per season for his ten year career. So bum maybe not. But Peyton Manning he damn sure aint and never freaking was!!

That still doesn't have anything to do with the 1997 season. The award isn't trying to predict NFL success, it is all about that 1 year. They will never have it as bad as Crouch over Grossman, though.

I was replying to your statement about woodson not being a bum or crashed out. I know its not predicting nfl success.

I love how worked up people get about an absolutely meaningless award. Any trophy that has been awarded to Eric Crouch, Ty Detmer, Andre Ware, and Gino Toretta is an absolute joke.

disagree. the fact that they don't always get it right in no way impugns the accomplishments of deserving winners, e.g. Tebow.

Yes, it does. If a club is filled with dreck, all of its members are affected.

that's a nifty saying, but I'm not persuaded. You're gonna go and tell Tim Tebow his award is meaningless because Eric Crouch also won it? a guy as smart as you knows better, hat.

No, I'm not worked up. They could give the Heisman to a third team noseguard from Idaho State and I wouldn't care. I just enjoy ridiculing people who are still yammering about a meaningless vote taken 10 years ago.

I'd be more than happy to tell Mr. Tebow his Heisman is worthless. the Walter Camp and the Maxwell mean something. The Downtown Athletic Club's feature trophy is utterly void of any real relevance.

as hat said, the heisman means absolutely nothing to me, but i still thought it should have gone to mcfadden. isn't the heisman awarded to the "most outstanding player" ? if so, then it is, without a doubt, darren mcfadden

thats exactly what ive thinking all this team...Tebow is an MVP, not the most outstanding player.

ESPN is controlling this award way too much... just stated the voters got it right by watching ESPN stated twice now....

Amen S.I. I refuse to recognize the stupid thing. They should change it to EFFPTLTWA. ESPN's Favorite ******* Player The Last Two Week's Award

Although I would have voted for DMac, I found myself feeling ok with TBo, he is a deserving winner, quite a young man. Would be happy to have had him as a Vol.

ESPN needs to back off its Heisman hype and quit promoting any one player. Mark May ,I believe said "they got it right just as ESPN told them". What BS, its not up to them, its up to the voters, stay out of it!
