120 yards isn't too bad.

What McFadden did against Bama, LSU, and USCe is amazing. Everyone in the stadium know McFadden's going to get the ball and BAM he still does amazing things.

Busted ribs will do that. Auburn victimized Timmy too, until Groves broke/dislocated 4 toes. Miss. St. actually has a pretty good D.

But you are right. The numbers those games were underwhelming.

as I mentioned, his injuries cost him. If Dixon doesn't go down for Oregon, we don't have this conversation. He was the best football player this year imho.

Congrats to Tebow. I am happy the Heisman came to the SEC. It seems Michigan was so bad this year, even their DBs couldn't out poll an SEC QB.

Having said that both UF & ARK went down to Auburn, but ARK. singlehandedly almost by McFadden beat LSU whereas the gators lost to LSU. Tebow did not have the top stats of QBs nationally nor did he have the top stats of RBs nationally, his team didn't win their conference, nor did his team win their division of their conference, consequently in my mind there's no way the guy deserves the Heisman this year. I agree with an earlier poster, it will be interesting next year watching the media tear him to pieces and see how he handles that pressure. However long he stays in school, the media will be writing stories about how much money he lost by staying in school and what a dummy he was for not coming out. This is Matt Leinhart X 3, if Tebow can stomach it for two years. I've already read one article where Percy Harvin is said to be the better player on the UF team itself, and Tebow and Meyer limited his touches this year to shine the light on Tebow. Watch many in the national media push Harvin as the Heisman winner next year. Book it.

good thread! close one between the Mac and the Bag. congrats to the Bag. what interests me is how much the media has blown up 1 player. whoever posted that it is Leinart x whatever was right. posterboy is an understatement. he is good but that is tall tall pedestal he is on and there are plenty of guys already salivating to knock him off of it next year. i just hope the U bangs him up a little for us.

Tebow deserved it. Had McFadden won, it would have been fine, too. He is equally as deserving as Tebow.

I should apologize.

But I'm going to because its the truth. Honeslty, the kid is just a nice guy. Why do people always have to insult people that are successful, even if they are just good and decent? Why can't you just enjoy that someone pleasant and gracious has done well through talent, hard work, and determination? Its refreshing that someone positive has done well.

Tebow is following the trail of Florida great college quarterbacks.We all know that when he gets in the NFL, he will be hard pressed to wind up being a good quarterback. Meanwhile, McFadden will easily average over 100 yards rushing per game once he settles in, then his avearge will climb up higher.

maybe some of us want to read threads about UT football instead of ones about little Timmy winning an award many UT fans don't really hold in high regard. :eek:hmy:

Having it on the main board is just asking for comments like this. I'm sure there are some more positive stories on a gator board somewhere

I don't have a problem with people rooting against the Gators, just find pathetic that group of people who can't wait for a TWENTY YEAR OLD KID to fail to get their jollies. Those people are of poor character.

And you may be right that McFadden has a better NFL career than Tebow. In fact, I think that is likely. But that's not what the award is for.

I think McFadden is a better athlete, and a better football player. My opinion doesn't matter because I don't have a Heisman vote. The award is legitimate. If it weren't important, we wouldn't have to discuss its relevance every year. Tebow won the award. The Gator nation has one more thing to hang its hat on these days.

Now, if we can find eleven guys on defense that hate to lose as much as Tebow, maybe UT can stop him from winning two in a row. That should be our primary focus until next September. The end.

It's funny that you should ask that. I saw an interview with Colt Brennan the night before the Heisman ceremony, and he said that he felt that Tebow would win the award.

missed it wish I would have seen it... Tebow and McFadden were both worthy of it... I have nothing but respect for both... Don't know much about Brennan except he recovered from his incident at Colorado... I just do not care for ESPN and their efforts to control, manage and influence poll, heisman, or others towards their way of thinking... ESPN serves nobody but themselves... and I think the along with the Peyton Thing the Trailor Trash comment was worth a swift A^^ Kicking...
