Look, I’m not disrespecting heupel at all for the job he’s done in the position we were in. But we are too prestigious a program to not be looking to improve when we can. We are in a position now where we can convince a proven head coach to take the job. Heupel has been paid well and been given every resource. And we just got embarrassed so badly that we should be questioning our coach. If I’m Danny White, I start putting out some feelers now. It’s been 2 years since our offense has been worth a ****. Flame away, I just think we could convince a good HC to take this job.
Maybe you should find another team.....

Yea let’s go back to playing coaching carousel and hope that works out . 😂😂 Name a coach that you want bud. Kirby smart and Dabo are the only coaches in the country that have won a natty. He definitely needs to do better than that fkin showing but I’m not gonna ditch on a guy that has gotten us into the playoffs just yet.

This was Butch Jones level of idiocy coaching tonight. Anyone not severely questioning what the hell Heupel is doing, has their head in the sand.
Bro, the Vols got their asses literally kicked all over the field. Coaching was never even a part of what happened tonight. They just got punked man.....

It very may well be an overreaction. My concern is we wait too long and the program becomes undesirable. I just feel we are in the position now to attract a home run guy.
It very well is a overreaction. Getting to the top doesn’t happen overnight. We clearly got areas to improve but a head coaching change isn’t it. We have to get stronger, we have to recruit and develop. Our WR room has to improve. Matthews needs to work his rear off to be ready next year. Everybody has to work toward getting stronger, faster and physically tougher. Sure Heupel has to see the problems and continue to improve. This loss should motivate everyone on coming back next year knowing what it takes and what to expect. There are no short cuts to getting bigger, stronger, faster and more disciplined and still bring consistent intensity. GBO

No we are not. We are 7 or 8 in the SEC pecking order. It is mostly due to how ****** Tennessee High School Athletics are. We get outclassed in recruiting by LSU, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and sometimes Auburn year-in and year out. Now we have Texas and Oklahoma as well to compete against.

EDIT: We are lucky to have Heupel and Nico
We was a doormat before huep got here. Some of these ppl man.

Better yet,

We should fire every High School Football coach in the State of Tennessee who doesn't produce a blue chip recruit or who allows the recruit to go to an out of state team.

We should also make all the mothers apologize for not producing top tier athletes that want to be Vols like you see in other states South of us.

Indeed, pass the bill to legislative tomorrow. 😂

It’s gonna go to a money ball league soon. Coaches and administrators will get less, players get more.

Against my better judgment, I'll reply.

What "proven head coach" is going to take a job at a place that fired a coach off a 10-win season and a playoff appearance? Where that same coach took over a program four years ago that was a dumpster fire, with sanctions and half the roster in the transfer portal and has two 10-win seasons and top 10 rankings?

You find the one fool who happens to be a proven HC that would entertain taking a job at a place like that and I'll sign on.
Take a deep look at our 10 wins. We were extremely fortunate this season. OU was bad, NC state was bad, Florida wasn’t rolling when we played. We beat a good Bama team and got out scored 31-7 in the second half against UGA. I understand we are in a much better position than we have been in a long time. But tonight was simply embarrassing. Ohio state may have more talent, but not that much more.

Agreed. It's better for everyone when we aren't fortunate and lose more games.

But they do have much more talent. Especially at the skill positions. Ran by our secondary all night.

On a night like tonight it is easy to forget how far Heupel has taken us. We were at absolute rock bottom coming off of the disaster that was Jeremy Pruitt when Danny White hired Josh. Four years later we are in the playoffs. We got bounced tonight by a better team with better players and better coaches, but that doesn’t mean Heupel needs to go. He needs to learn from this and move on. Tonight was the first playoff appearance in the history of Tennessee football, but it won’t be the last
