Tiny staying?

Could I see him going early? Yes.

However, he seems to be very invested in UT.

Also, he is currently valued at the #4 OT behind Matthews, Lewan and Kouandjio. Over the last 4 years, 4/4/6/2/5 OTs have been taken in the 1st Round. If he leaves, he stands a good chance to be a 1st Rounder. Historically, the 4th OT off the board is usually mid-20s.

There is a big big big difference between mid-20s 1st Round money and low-1st. While Pugh was the 5th OT taken, he was taken at 19 so his $8,345,898/4year contract $4,449,744 signing bonus is pretty indicative of the high end of what Tiny could be looking at.

If Tiny comes back, he could compete be the 1st or 2nd OT taken and Luke Joeckel signed a $21,201,598/4year deal and a signing bonus of $13,799,344.

That's a lot of money for staying 1 year.
Also one more year to delay his second contract. He is a VFL, but he gone.

It would be nice, but not realistic...especially if he balls out against Clowney.

This tweet is 100% about the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS in 2014. Why would he be excited about the team next year if he was going to the NFL. He wouldn't even know what team he would be on in 2014. Context clues fellas

I was thinking this the other night when blair committed. Wouldnt that be awesome to have him and tiny. That wouldnt make it to bad of a transition for next year. I think its possible Butch is a player's coach and if tiny thinks they can actually do something next year why wouldnt he. Hell it would only up his draft spot for the 15 draft.

because everyone knows that finishing one year of college is impossible after you've put $10-20mil in your bank account. Honestly I'll never understand the "finish your degree" crowd. If someone had offered me that kind of money to leave school as a junior I would have left without packing.

I'd love for him to stay but the kid has to go pro. He's a first round pick.

So was Peyton Manning, no? And I gotta feel these kids on this team feel like they have ownership in what is going on right now. I know it would be hard for me to walk away with an "incomplete", and I'm not invested in it like they are, and all of the negative crap they have had to endure.

With that said, I understand it either way, but wouldn't surprise me at all if he stayed to enjoy some of his hard work even more.

Yep. Honestly, 99% of people would leave college in a heartbeat for even a fraction of that.

Thats exactly what i was saying by just asking why.

If he'd like to:

(1) beat Georgia and Florida;
(2) take an extra year to get stronger and more experienced;
(3) increase his draft stock;
(4) live a college lifestyle with minimal financial responsibilities;
(5) be surrounded by college chicks;
(6) be a huge brick in the rebuilding effort; and
(7) ingratiate himself to the VolNation for years to come...

Then he should come back. I hope he does! :)

The projections on him vary a bit. I've seen mid-first round down to early second round. He should test the waters but if he's projected as a late first, early second pick he should consider coming back. He could be a top 10 pick if he comes back for his senior year.

There's no testing the water like the NBA. Once you declare for the draft your life as a collegiate football player is over.

The selfish side of me wants him to stay. I do think that it is too risky a decision for him to stay. He will be a first rounder this coming April. I wish him all the best and thank him for giving his all for Tennessee.

It wouldn't be unheard of or him to stay. Jake Matthews and Taylor Lewan stayed for their senior years to try to increase their draft stock.

Not every player plays for the money. Some of these guys love the game, their team, and their university enough to put off the fame and fortune of the NFL for one more year. I understand speculation going either way, him staying or leaving, but saying either one is definite is just talking out of your ass.

Tiny is a leader of this team and him staying next year would allow for a bit of stability on an offensive line that will be almost completely different. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Butch was telling him how important his role in next year's team would be and how that would affect his legacy at UT. It's one thing to be a great player on a bad team, it's another to be a great player and leader on a team that can make some noise.

He is gone and would be crazy not to go. Although I certainly won't be upset if I am wrong.

That's all the more reason for him to go. No position on the field is more affected by the performance of others than the offensive line. Richardson's stock could be hurt by the play of 4 totally green linemates.

Unfortunately, I think it's happening to Cyrus K. at Bama right now.
