Tiny staying?

As a football player not finishing your degree is a terrible idea...

True. But with the money he will make, he can return to school on his own dime later. And the UT would welcome him back as a full time student. But the dunderheads like Rogan and a few other guys who either egoistically assumed they were elite or listen to misguiding jackasses, are a different matter.

You realize that they can finish their degree. In fact, completed all their classes by the junior season, they would only have one year left for a bachelors.

Could I see him going early? Yes.

However, he seems to be very invested in UT.

Also, he is currently valued at the #4 OT behind Matthews, Lewan and Kouandjio. Over the last 4 years, 4/4/6/2/5 OTs have been taken in the 1st Round. If he leaves, he stands a good chance to be a 1st Rounder. Historically, the 4th OT off the board is usually mid-20s.

There is a big big big difference between mid-20s 1st Round money and low-1st. While Pugh was the 5th OT taken, he was taken at 19 so his $8,345,898/4year contract $4,449,744 signing bonus is pretty indicative of the high end of what Tiny could be looking at.

If Tiny comes back, he could compete be the 1st or 2nd OT taken and Luke Joeckel signed a $21,201,598/4year deal and a signing bonus of $13,799,344.

That's a lot of money for staying 1 year.

You know you have to wade through a lot of drivel on here to get to some real meat but this post is one of them. Great fact finding DC!:peace2:

An OL of:
LT- Tiny
LG- Jackson
C- Crowder
RG- Weisman
RT- Blair

wouldn't be quite as good as this year but i feel like they'd be a really quality unit.

I think he could make himself a ton of money by waiting one more year, and showing he can dominate in this system. He has not shown that yet.....an extra 5 mil is nothing to sneeze at. He is not going to go high this year...unless he really turns it on starting next week. If he plays up to his potential the rest of the season, he will go high first, and he should leave. JMO

Tiny's leaving---let's just get that out of the way. He would be stupid not to--and giving up a big payday? Only way any kid would give that up is if there was some kind of a possibility of competing for a Natty ala Matt Barkley and that didn't even work out for him!

Glad you weren't around when Peyton made his stupid decision to stay for his senior year.

I think one thing is for sure, Butch will give him the right advise.

No he won't. The advice that CBJ will give him will be what's best for UT Football and for himself. That's why he's getting pd $3 mil+ for, and that's what we as fans should expect him to do.

Yes I know it's harsh and I want the best for Tiny, but to think that CBJ isn't going to be somewhat bias in whatever advice he gives him is naive. At the end of the day Dooley would be the guy he should, but most likely cant, reach out to (if they had a good relationship).

So is there some kind of special alert ur loser azz gets whenever I post?? Geez man u have a pretty freaking pathetic life.

Dooley recruited the kid and probably knows him better than CBJ so it's not to hard to imagine that he could give him some solid advice if they had a good relationship.

At the end of the day like it or not dooley is apart of UT history so f-off douche bag.

CBJ's prized recruit at CMU, Eric Fisher, the #1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft, played his senior season and signed a 22M contract with a 14.5M bonus. Tiny is projected as the 5th best OL and will get 8M max. One more year will triple his take.

I don't think he would mention about the recruits coming in if he WASN'T going to PLAY with them.

He will still have time to finish his degree. UT has a program just for that.

He could get a huge insurance policy to cover himself but he'll probably go to the NFL. He's a 1st rounder.

IMO, I would say he's voicing his opinion of 2014 as a VFL, not as a player.
