Titans Owner Bud Adams wants Peyton Manning

Nobody said he could walk on water...or turn a frog into a Prince. Your insinuation that he didn't help guys who didn't even belong in the league, become productive backups is just as ridiculous.

I'm not sure last season shows they were "productive"

1. for how long? at 36 his career is on the back end. Locker's is just beginning. The real question is the $ value of PM versus Hass worth it. How many wins will an injured PM give vs a healthy Hass. If Indy is willing to part with him then there might be a little bit to the injury.

Elway disagrees with your age argument. Just look at the other players released by the Colts. You don't think they still have some really good years left in them? I mean, since they released Wayne and Clark they must be done too right?

Similar question- were you an Oilers fan?

Similar, maybe, but definitely not the same. Don't misinterpret my question as a shot at you. I was just curious because I think it's interesting the PM actually made some lifelong Colts fans out of Tennessee fans. I was wondering if you were sticking around because PM made a legitimate Colts fan out of you (nothing wrong with that), or if you were a pre-Manning Colts fan, as some on here (vfj) claim to be.

It could have an impact on concession sales though as more ticket holder would go to the game instead of just eating the ticket

2. Merchandise? sure. Ticket Sales - no. Big NO. Very few tickets go on sale due to the PSL requirement to buy full season tickets. There are enough PSL ticket holders that even if the remaining tickets did not even sale the games would not be blacked out due to seating.
1)I wonder if Miami said the same thing when they didn't pursue Drew Brees? You do the due diligence in checking out the "injury" but if he clears medically and throws well, you pursue him. This is about an owner without much time chasing a Super Bowl before he dies.

2) Merchandise sales would go through the roof. How many Manning jerseys sale as soon as they hit the shelves in Tennessee if he is a Titan?

I'm just not seeing the problem here unless the money is a huge problem. Locker wouldn't be hurt by sitting a few years and learning some from Manning.

Didn't take it as that and I don't know what I'll do honestly. The wife is a lifelong Skins fan and I do still have the Cards (even if they're not on tv much here). The way the Colts just gutted their team it's hard to see how they'll be anything but whipping boys for a while. The only fun of watching them do that in 98 was the fact a guy I went to school with was leading the team and he could be seen on Knoxville tv every Sunday

Would set the franchise back along way, give the money to someone who can really help us in Mario Williams.

This doesn't make sense. A quarterback of Peyton Manning's caliber being a free agent is something you rarely ever see. His impact on the win/loss column is far greater than Mario Williams and just about any other free agent to ever hit the market. He'll give the Titans two important things they've been lacking. A passing game to open up the run for CJ and consistent drives giving the defense time to rest. So many times our defense has played awesome only for the offense to repeatedly go four and out. Defense can only stop them so many times. Peyton prolonging drives allows the opponent fewer possessions.

As much as I'd hate it for Hass, I'm all for cutting him and signing Peyton. Peyton gives us a much better chance to win and if we're not going to start Locker, I'd prefer Manning over Hasselbeck.

Good ole Bud. I'm so pleased he's yall's problem now.

Once the delusion wears off and folks realize that the guy is solely focused on short term gains, you'll begin to understand that Bud Adams is a steaming pile of crap.

Glad he's our problem. Nashville would've never had an NFL team without him. We owe him a huge thank you.

I can understand that point of view. You wanted a local team to pull for in state. I get that, but dont be misled to think that, like most elderly owners, he's not real focused on building champions. More focused on jersey sales and ticket sales. Its all marketing to him.

A run here, a run there. A playoff appearance once in a while, and he's satisfied. He'll die with his money and that his only motivation.

I'm not saying that I agree with everything he does, however I'm just happy to have the team in Nashville.

It makes absolutely perfect business sense, and I cannot agree with the idea that bringing in Peyton Manning would set the team back. How?

They were 9-7 with Hasselbeck last year. What would they have been with Manning? How good would the offense be with Manning in 2012? Better. Draft all defense, maybe pick up one FA defender...Add water. Instant playoff contender.

Locker learns from the master and wins in the process. Locker isn't Curtis Painter or Jim Sorgi.

Anyway, I still don't think it happens, but it's silly to begrudge Bud Adams for not being interested. Absolutely silly. It makes too much sense for Bud Adams. He is a business owner, after all. And if the team is a playoff contender with Peyton Manning and has Locker under contract, what's not to like? Maybe Locker would walk when he's a free agent, but if I'm the owner, that's a risk I'm willing to take one thousand times over.

Oh yeah, I got my copy. My wife felt that she was hanging out of that bikini on the cover spot. Tell you what...she has some serious mass on them puppies. Only a 33 but that D cup is very unusual for her size. Interesting curves. A different look about her.

Link please.:dance2:

For every Brees there are two that dont recover. PM may be one of them. May not. We just dont know and that's the risk you take. Is it worth it to take the risk on a injured QB one year post 3 neck surgeries vs a vet QB who did reasonably well and a 1st rd draft pick QB in his 2nd yr.

The Moss jersey sale didnt generate that much and at the time he was a big name commidity. A PM jersey would generate more for sure but is it enough to overcome the salary cap hit. A multi year huge contract for an injured player is a serious risk to take.

I was not really an NFL follower until he was drafted. I watched every Colts game that season and picked them. I'm also an AZ Cardinals fan since I lived less than 2mi from the stadium and went to most of their home games for over 6 years.

hating the titans has nothing to do with the "rivals" thing. As I've said many times, I still hold a grudge from comments made by them about UT when they got to TN. IMO there's only one football team in the state worth following

What were the comments made about UT by the Titans? I am ignorant about this.

Why not? If Manning can't play, play Locker. That's what a lot of people want over Hasselbeck, anyway.

Again. Your medical staff would give him a through once over but it is no more a risk than any major QB you bring in.

Randy Moss played for Marshall not UT. Moss also isn't one of the top 5 QBs ever to play the game.

This is probably an irrelevant discussion because I don't believe he will land with the Titans but still I don't see the major problem with bringing him in.

Well in a few weeks all these Colt bandwagon fans can change their NFL team they cheer for. Nah the Titans won't get Peyton. The Titans need help defensively, but with the new watered down soft NFL , who needs Defense?

If he can still play he's going to give someone a good QB for at least a couple of years.

Whaaat? You're crazy. Hardees thickburgers are second only to Backyard Burger in the fast food world, imo.

I didn't know. The last Hardee's hamburger that I had was in Woodbury, TN in 1993. It sucked bad! I still go there every now and then for breakfast, but I haven't stopped there for lunch until about two week's ago. I don't remember exactly what I got. I think it has an angus something something. It was ok. I would get another put probably won't go out of my way to stop there.

I do agree that Backyard Burgers are killer good! When you are out west, In-and-Out burgers are da bomb!
