Titans Owner Bud Adams wants Peyton Manning

Not gonna happen. Everyone knows Peyton is gonna be our coach after this year. I saw him in the airport earlier. SIAP

There are reports saying he won't decide his team till next week perhaps, if he wasn't considering us don't you think he would sign with Denver tomorrow?

1)Peyton Manning>>>>>Locker>Hasselbeck.

2)Merchandise Sales/Ticket Sales.

Why wouldn't you want Manning on your team? Are the Titans not immediately better at the QB position if they sign him?

It will hurt the development of Jake, he is our future. We have Hass for that veteran/mentor role and back up. I'm sorry but I don't see how a 36 year old Manning is worth it, especially since we don't know if he is healthy or will be back to his old ways. Give the keys to Jake or roll with Hass one more year.

There are reports saying he won't decide his team till next week perhaps, if he wasn't considering us don't you think he would sign with Denver tomorrow?

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports free-agent QB Peyton Manning is exhausted after his weekend flights to Denver and Arizona, and not ready to make a decision. Mortensen would be shocked if Manning picked a new team by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. opening of free agency, and suggested Manning may not sign with a team at all this week. “He wants to get back into his throwing regimen,” Mortensen stated. “I will be shocked if he has a decision by 4 p.m. tomorrow when the new league year starts. And I might even be surprised if he has a decision this week.”

ESPN reports after at least 12 teams contacted Peyton Manning when he became a free agent, the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback has narrowed his options. The Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals, the first two teams Manning visited, are considered his two likeliest landing spots, according to sources familiar with the situation. The Seattle Seahawks continue to try to arrange a meeting with Manning, according to sources, but so far they have been unable to do so. Manning still could wind up meeting with the Dolphins, but indications are that Miami isn't as high on his list as Denver and Arizona. There always is the possibility another team suddenly jumps into the fray, thhe sources said, but it is looking increasingly likely there are only a few viable possibilities at this time. One source who spoke with Manning prior to his visit with the Cardinals said "his gut is that Manning is leaning toward Denver." The Broncos' advantages include Manning's relationship with executive vice president of football operations John Elway and HC John Fox and the fact that joining them would keep him in the AFC, where he has played all his professional football with the Colts. Yet the Cardinals will make a hard push and put on what one team source said is a "Louisville-style full-court press." Manning also is close with Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt and has played golf with him.

This would be the smartest business move the Titans have ever made. Look the state of TN sells just as much colts gear as Titans. If they get Peyton they will increase their fan base long term there for increase revenue long term. Smart move if you ask me. Pay the man more than any other team because it will double their fan base.

If he waits till next week Arizona is due to give Kolb a huge bonus that would take them out of the running. My point is if those are his only two choices why is he putting this off to potentially next week? Sign tomorrow so you can recruit your buddies and such there.

That part is true. It would generate some serious revenue

Miami out of the running for PM, according to Sirius XM.

I never thought he'd go there in the first place, weak team and would have to play Brady twice and the Jets twice. Getting back to my point, why is he dragging this out. He has said he doesn't want to play in the NFC and if Denver is the only AFC team left why isn't he going to sign tomorrow? Remember most of the time when a team and a player have been linked together like this it usually doesn't end up happening.

oh look! somebody merged their boot up side somebody's head for being a "oh,look this needs to be merged" knuckel-head...

Somebody doesn't have a clue what's going on.

Peyton Manning at age 36 is likely better than Locker will ever be in his career. You try to get him if he were to listen.

So, someone must have been mistaken regarding PM's interest in Miami:

@davehydesports: Strike that: They are NOT out of the running. Dolphins are in the running

Worst move ever if Titans get him. All Manning is now is a transition QB and that is all he would be at Tennessee. He wouldn't do it with Luck coming in. What makes you think he would do it with Locker. Plus no need to give Hasselbeck a bad shakedown.

The JortieNation website is aghast at this turn of events

Really? So you're ready just to give up on the guy we just drafted #8 last year? He looked great in his limited playing time this past season. I like where our future is.

Locker and Luck are two waaaaaaay different prospects. One is expected to be the next great QB, the other is guy with a decently high ceiling you hope can turn into a great QB. Peyton will be a transition QB anywhere he goes due to his age so that's not really a valid argument.

Fact is he would give the Titans a chance to win now.

No? It just means Peyton is that good. That statement would hold true for most QBs in the NFL.

Lol @ the posters saying that it would hurt Locker. Yeah that really hurt Aaron Rodgers backing up Brett Favre. So how would getting one of if not the best quarterbacks of all time to mentor Locker "hurt" him?

And Favre did anything but mentor Rodgers.

I just don't see the reasoning behind adding a 36 year old broken down QB, when this team needs a dominant pass rusher. Spend our money on Mario Williams and this team is playoff bound.
