Titans Owner Bud Adams wants Peyton Manning

We have a good, strong and well respected front office.

We have a good and well respected coaching staff.

We have a great bookend set of tackles. Some free agents will shore up the OL.

We have a good RB and potentially solid ground game to take pressure off of Manning.

We have a decent array of WRs and TEs to utilize in the pass game.

Our defenses is not great, but it is not bad either. We are a couple of players away from being more than good enough to win championships on defense.

Manning's wife's family lives in Nashville area.

Manning has a lot of friends in this area.

Manning is adored by fans in this area.

Does he want to poke Irsay in the eye? What better place than to do it here.

Now we are learning that the Titans are going t pursue Mario Williams very hard. The Titans are not far from being a pretty darn good team. Add those two into the mix and they improve on both sides of the ball an awful lot.

sounds a lot like Gruden. I'm convinced :hi:

Also rumored Bud Adams is offering Peyton an ownership stake. Houston may be getting a visit, too. Could get interesting.

The Titans have a offense that fits Peyton. Don['t know if they can outbid Denver or Arizona for him. You would have to like Tennessee's offense over either Denver or Arizona. Offensive line that can protect him i promise is a thought on Peyton's mind. He would have that here and a lot weapons around him. It could be a scary good offense. As we saw this year, that's all you really need is a good offense.

We have more cap room than either team. Arizona is like 17 million in the negative so they'd be cutting quite a lot.

Had not heard that, but it does make sense.

I did hear that Bud Adams plans on offering Manning a position in the Titans front office upon his retirement as part of a package.

come on you don't see it? Owns land in TN, wife has a TN connection, dog named Smokey, etc

In all seriousness, I've been on this board too long to be excited over anything anymore. That's why I'm skeptical over this. I'm jaded.

Houston is in cap trouble too. The only real teams that have enough cap space is us and Denver.

I still think Denver is in the driver's seat but Tennessee just jumped in the back. The rumors about Miami and Houston don't concern me.

@mortreport Peyton Manning will meet w Dolphins coach Joe Philbin & Titans coach Mike Munchak during next 3 days, scheduled away from team facilities.

Arizona can't be a realistic option... They're OVER the salary cap right now. I don't see how they could make that work.

I was skeptical about Mort's comments this will go into next week. Now it looks like he was right.

This is Adams' smokescreen. When Locker fizzles, he can point to this bs and say "hey I tried to land PM - it didn't work out."

Or he could just give everybody the finger.

Mike Florio thinks Manning may be humoring the Titans' advances to catch the attention of the Texans, who are rumored to be Peyton's top choice. But although Omar Kelly says Manning will visit Houston, there's been no confirmation of that report elsewhere.

Houston is tight to their cap. That would be nearly impossible for them to pull off. They would have to release some key players in order to pull that off.

Remember that Florio was fired by Bud Adams and holds a grudge.

To piggy-back off Z06, Sirius is reporting PM to visit Houston as well.

Would hate for him to go to Houston. Anywhere but there, PM!
