The Tee Higgins commitment video to UT still irks me. We were in a much different spot as a program then, but what he did was unnecessary. IIRC, Tee and his family was sitting around an outdoor table, against the back of their house, holding sparklers (around July 4th). A few days/weeks later, Clemson released Tee's real commitment video with huge fireworks. I trully believe Dabo was behind it and that's his style. It was an over the top punk move towards the VOLS. I hope Dabo and Clemson totally falls off the map.You don’t pull that stunt, as many times as he’s visited and being a local kid, unless you’re upset about something.
Dollars to donuts this kid wanted in at some point but the staff wasn’t ready to take the commitment, OR he wanted to play a position but we liked him better at another (wr vs cb or vice versa).
You put on a show like that while committing and it means you’re scorned about something.
The last two kids who did that - both linebackers from Georgia - one was pizsed because Pruitt cussed him out when he told him he was going to commit to Georgia, and then he other (Jaimie Pettway) wanted in the boat but we weren’t ready to accept. Ended up at Mizzou.
No, it doesn’t hurt his chances with us as a fallback school. No one on the coaching or recruiting staff cares one iota.I don't care, but allot can happen in 2 years. Why risk a potential fall back school? You don't think it hurts his chances of UT giving him another option down the road, if things don't work out at Clemson? To me: I get 2 job offers. I don't go back and insult the company I didn't choose
Do you know of any instance where a Vol signed by current staff did anything close to this action at the table? No, it doesn’t hurt his chances with us as a fallback school. No one on the coaching or recruiting staff cares one iota.
He put a Tennessee shirt on then took it off. If y’all wanna psychoanalyze a kid over this dumb crap go ahead. The one guy here who might know anything about him says he’s a good kid. The only reason to challenge that is to fit this dumb narrative that there’s no evidence for.
A. He’s not a “bad” kid because he did this. No, it doesn’t hurt his chances with us as a fallback school. No one on the coaching or recruiting staff cares one iota.

I tend to agree but I also have a sneaking suspicion other coaches encourage it. Dabo, Dorkawitz, and Kirby are all three guys with a strongly vested interested in keeping UT down. You don’t pull that stunt, as many times as he’s visited and being a local kid, unless you’re upset about something.

I wonder about the timing here a little bit ..... I think Clemson was frustrated that they weren't seriously considered by Faizon Brandon. A player in Knoxville (from next year's class) doing this the day before everyone knew Brandon was committing to Tennessee? It makes you wonder ....I tend to agree but I also have a sneaking suspicion other coaches encourage it. All three of their programs have benefitted from our decade and a half of incompetence. They know when we’re at our best we take our pick of the HS players in their states. So I could see a staffer giving them the “wouldn’t it be fun if…” speech about doing a fake out. You rarely see recruits fake committing to schools that aren’t a threat in one way or another.
I think it's not a big deal... That'switch' has been done a million times. You don’t pull that stunt, as many times as he’s visited and being a local kid, unless you’re upset about something.

That's been covered a lot ....Would the same reaction happen on here if he had pulled a Clemson shirt off then picked Tennessee?
