'24 TN CB Jaren Sensabaugh

tinyorangetrain did you? probably not... you post too much, girl!

Jaren is a very good tackler, great at the point of contact, he adjusts extremely well pre snap and also to the route post snap, and (huge plus for this staff) he plays WR-- well, I might add. He's not the fastest cb but high IQ player (again, watch how he adjusts to the play-- it doesn't matter if you are 4.3 if you don't know what's going on).

it isn't an elite pickup but with his pedigree and raw skills could be a very solid starter in a couple of years. the kind of kid that comes in and by Junior year is playing good football and providing solid depth (something we haven't had this year, or any year that I can remember) for an sec championship caliber team.

between '23 and '24 i think we've got a top 5 SEC db class and that's what it takes to compete in this league. I think a lot of you may be passing judgment to this kid due to the sins of one's father, which, SHAME on you. If that is how we operate, how many of you must repent for sins you did not commit? Kid seems to have a good head on his shoulder & I'm sure has learned a great deal from his family. Celebrate this pickup.

Heupel has had 2 recruiting classes. In his 2nd class, they got 3 CBs who are excellent prospects in Gibson, Matthews, and Conyers. But they were freshmen this year. Gibson likely starts next season.

You mentioned the portal. They got GJL, Turnage, and Hadden from the portal. Your 2 best CBs come from that group. But what other CB could UT have gotten from the portal who is elite? Guys are usually in the portal because they weren’t playing elsewhere.

When you walk into a situation in which you have less than 60 scholarship players (believe it was 57 that first year), an NCAA cloud hanging over you, and non-existent freshman class (the only remaining member of the 2021 class is Jaylen Wright), you’re not going to be at high end SEC level in your 3rd year. It’s ridiculous to expect that. DB is one position in which UT just isn’t there yet. But there are young pieces that give us reason to expect we will be. Gibson, Beasley, Matthews, and Conyer, are the future of this group. Sensabaugh and possibly Bates might also be.
The Portal kids brought in the last couple of years to help make up a depleted roster were injured this year. Offense Bru Thornton Karic Defense Hadden Pili guys they needed big years from. Campbell been in out losing Carter also at MB tough year . Great Post. In CHRIST Alone

Some just think because he is former Vandy recruit he is not worthy. Just because as a whole their team is not good doesn’t mean they don't have individuals that can play even in NFL. There Safty CJ Taylor would be amazing on our D this year and he will play in NFL. In CHRIST Alone

Ain’t nobody passing judgement. But it is fair to look at history and project that the player and his Dad could possibly be problematic.

The Dad is a cancer.

The reason why they do what they do for a living and D1 ball coaches do what they do for a living. People don’t know their butt from a banana when it comes to football but they want to trash a kid who wants to be a vol because he’s not highly recruited. If he’s a bust it won’t be for lack of talent or work ethic. There’s more that goes into getting a ranking than just having a hudl tape. There’s a political side just like anything else. Not saying he would be a 5 star if he had went to every big camp and jumped through all the hoops though.

Please give me some examples of a players dad (that wasnt on staff) affecting a SEC football team in a negative way?
Stupid request. Nobody knows the inner workings and communications of 14 football programs.

The Mays‘ Dad caused major problems at UGA

You don’t believe a disgruntled Dad has ever called/texted/met with a coach or AD regarding his son? If you believe that, you are truly delusional

And both Mays became great for us, while dad remained the same. So how is that relevant?

He just has the same issue as a lot of our other experienced DBs - an average athletic ceiling.

Really need some young guys to step up next year
Yeah our most athletic secondary guys are currently freshman and sophomores plus the ones we have committed in this class. But I’m fine with a physical, high IQ guy. We’ve had less athletic guys on top of bad angles.

Being from Kingsport I have heard all about dad’s issues and the school hopping. However that stuff doesn’t fly in the SEC nor most college programs. If any problems arise I’m sure he will be asked to look elsewhere to transfer to. No need to hold it against the kid. I see no problem if the staff wants him.

How many MAJOR problems did he cause? What MAJOR problems did he cause?

Yet somehow Georgia is the most dominant team in college football trying to 3 peat as national Champions. He really affected that program. Someone said Chris and CJ Leak's Dad, yet Chris won a national title at Florida. He really effed up that program as well. That's why this is a dumb a$$ argument.

Who is arguing? You asked for examples and you got a couple. Don’t ask the question if you don’t want the answers.

I asked who's dad negatively impacted a major college program. Just because you answered, doesn't mean it was a valid or correct answer. Come back when you understand the assignment. I got answers, then stated why they were not valid answers, which you're unable to dispute. So you responded with more invalid drivel.

Nobody here does then by that argument. What we do know is top recruiting classes 9.5 times out of 10 equate to winning. So that’s really all that matters as far as message boards go. Nobody is going to be thrilled taking a vandy decomit that’s a 3 star. I hope he’s the next cam sutton if he plays for us. But until then, he appears to not be the immediate help we need in the backfield to compete.

Sure did watch his film Nancy. Not impressed. If you are that’s fine. I am no expert. I am an idiot fan just like you who gives their opinion. So you can take your high horse crap and shove it. His pedigree? What his daddy? Give me a break.

Sorry if I want much better players at Tennessee. Sorry if I want guys that Bama, UGA, OSU and the other big time powerhouses want. I know nothing of this kids character or his families character. I have not said anything about it. Nor do I care. If you want to celebrate us getting such a low ranked mediocre DB then by all means do so. I think it would be a waste of a scholarship.

I don’t think it’s at all realistic to expect any high schooler to be an immediate Impact player in this league. Even with the portal should be cautious optimism. We can take both bates and Sensabaugh and I would consider that an excellent DB class.
