Sure did watch his film Nancy. Not impressed. If you are that’s fine. I am no expert. I am an idiot fan just like you who gives their opinion. So you can take your high horse crap and shove it. His pedigree? What his daddy? Give me a break.

Sorry if I want much better players at Tennessee. Sorry if I want guys that Bama, UGA, OSU and the other big time powerhouses want. I know nothing of this kids character or his families character. I have not said anything about it. Nor do I care. If you want to celebrate us getting such a low ranked mediocre DB then by all means do so. I think it would be a waste of a scholarship.
This is at least a valid argument, whether one agrees with it or not. "His dad is a prick", is not a valid argument as to whether we should feel good about a potential commit or not.

I asked who's dad negatively impacted a major college program. Just because you answered, doesn't mean it was a valid or correct answer. Come back when you understand the assignment. I got answers, then stated why they were not valid answers, which you're unable to dispute. So you responded with more invalid drivel.
LOL! You asked, I answered. As did others. Made you look like a fool so you start back pedaling. Pretty typical.

Come back when you have another assignment. I’ll be here all night.

Your answers only further proved the point that you couldn't name one that actually impacted a program negatively. Both of your examples won National titles during or immediately after these fathers supposedly messed them up. Thus validating my question. I would tell you that you're the only one looking like a fool, but you don't need my help. You got that one handled all on your own boss.

Agree with BOT....lol. (wow)

@Go Fight Win his film is good for a Nickelback.

But leave that dude on an island and he's toast right now.

We have some good guys committed.

But this dude doesn't make up for missing on Bates, and many other CBs we missed on.

People like you need to pipe the hell down and be realistic.
This dude is no better than Harrison, who couldn't even make an impact this year despite our desperate need for CB play

Has anyone seen this kid play? All I'm getting here is a bunch of talk about his dad and arguments about character. Can the kid play or not?
And here’s the rub.

If he was a top flight talent, people wouldn’t be apprehensive (or at least much less so) about his loud mouth father.

But people are apprehensive about his father, which points to his perceived talent proposition.

Pipe down? What do you know about ****?

I’m not claiming equivalency. Kid earned an offer and you can bang your little drum all day long but to say he’s simply a makeup because he runs a 4.6 while watching the same film I watched where he sits on an island making play after play, ok man! Do your thing! I hope it works out for you. Just ignore me or whatever since you seem to have a one track kind of a thing going on.

things aren’t so black and white… he’s a different kind of player than Cai Bates “and the other DB’s we’ve missed” he does things they don’t and I don’t think the staff will likely use this kid like they would Cai. Does he end up a safety? I don’t know but I do know I’m not an idiot, and I assume you are or you wouldn’t agree with the self proclaimed idiot. The film is good. Kick rocks

Perhaps you aren't a good evaluator of talent?
I really thought he was gonna be better than Myles Garret. Boy was I wrong.

So what you are saying is that UGA had to get rid of a cancerous Dad BEFORE they could win a national championship????

Mic drop

So the ones that keep defending this kid and say “Tell me why you don’t want him”

Now y’all tell me why you want him? I’ll wait. If your answer is “he plays man” don’t ever talk about football again.

If he was bumped to a 4 star, would you want him then?

Nope.

So you avoid my question by asking the typical “if he was a 4 star would you want him” question. Got it, you can carry on.
Just trying to understand why you don’t want the kid.

I don’t think he’d be a splash commit or anything, but the staff obviously wants him.

You’re one of my favorite posters on here. Level headed, unlike myself. So I’ll try to explain without being an ass. Lol

If I were to go on here and explain why I don’t want this kid, no matter what facts I use or what I say, I’ll still get 10+ angry posters in here not agreeing with what I’m saying because I’m not agreeing with the coaching staff.

It’s all opinions, one guy will like the kid, and another won’t. I’m not saying the coaches aren’t it because of this one recruit. My issue is, the whole year we’ve been complaining about our secondary, and we need guys to come in and play. Why not recruit someone else a little more ready or just use a spot on a transfer that can actually help and contribute next year?

No one will ever truly understand why or why not someone wants a certain recruit because everyone’s opinion will be different. It doesn’t matter how I feel or you feel about a recruit, because someone else has a different opinion.

I already know what replies are coming next, and I’m sure I’ll see the same exact opinions/responses from the same exact posters the last 4 years.

I agree with what you are saying but I just think the portal is more of a crapshoot than people realize. In a perfect world I’d like to get both this kid and a starter/stud from the portal.

We are in an era where we can be more comfortable taking risks out of the high school ranks because if it doesn’t work out we can move on from said player.

Stupid request. Nobody knows the inner workings and communications of 14 football programs.

The Mays‘ Dad caused major problems at UGA

You don’t believe a disgruntled Dad has ever called/texted/met with a coach or AD regarding his son? If you believe that, you are truly delusional
I know that colleges won’t share a report card with the parents who are writing tuition checks. Maybe Arch Manning or some similarly elite recruit has access to the coaching staff, especially in this era of the portal. I’d bet most coaches take the approach that a 18-23 year old man needs to handle his own business if he desires to remain a part of the team. A parent (especially a parent of a marginally talented recruit) can reach out all they want - doesn’t mean the coach or AD will respond.

raise your hand if you watched his film

tinyorangetrain did you? probably not... you post too much, girl!

Jaren is a very good tackler, great at the point of contact, he adjusts extremely well pre snap and also to the route post snap, and (huge plus for this staff) he plays WR-- well, I might add. He's not the fastest cb but high IQ player (again, watch how he adjusts to the play-- it doesn't matter if you are 4.3 if you don't know what's going on).

it isn't an elite pickup but with his pedigree and raw skills could be a very solid starter in a couple of years. the kind of kid that comes in and by Junior year is playing good football and providing solid depth (something we haven't had this year, or any year that I can remember) for an sec championship caliber team.

between '23 and '24 i think we've got a top 5 SEC db class and that's what it takes to compete in this league. I think a lot of you may be passing judgment to this kid due to the sins of one's father, which, SHAME on you. If that is how we operate, how many of you must repent for sins you did not commit? Kid seems to have a good head on his shoulder & I'm sure has learned a great deal from his family. Celebrate this pickup.
But he's a Y commit and doesn't have enough stars!

I don't know what skills this guy has, but I do think that 4.6 is enough. Anticipation, quickness, awareness, toughness, and just being a ball player can easily cancel being about a half-step "slow". There are too many examples of guys that were too slow to play but were stars - Emmett Smith comes to mind with his 4.7.
