They got there the same way we’re attempting. Top 11-15, develop and start landing impact players. #Build

Yep. Plus they have the advantage of not playing Georgia, Florida and Alabama in the front of their schedule every year. If we switched schedules with them, we’d be rolling and they’d be cycling through coaches. No doubt in my mind. They are our doppelgänger.

I don’t know but I’d like some of that feel around our program. The wrong color orange is having too much fun.
Agreed. I think we get there. I love that Pruitt doesn't seem to play on religion or gimmicks. He sells football and teaching the game. My favorite thing is when a recruit says he watched film with Pruitt and he simplified it to where it's easy to understand.

It’s all about how talented your roster is when you make the playoffs.

No doubt. Though I feel there's a necessary adjustment needed in the equation, considering we are in the SEC, which is anchored by the #1 and #2 recruiting programs at the moment, both of which we play every single season. I feel like we may need closer to #6-#10 classes to get back. If we had been in the ACC, which had no other major programs except FSU (that was teetering post-Jameis/Pruitt), then I'd agree 11-15 would be sufficient. OU has come close to doing the same in an equally mediocre conference. But it's going to take more with the sharks we're surrounded by. Hell, the entire conference has zero schools that are sub-50th ranked in talent (VU was the lowest in the 247 team talent composite at #45). That is just 3 spots behind NC State, which is 9th in the ACC out of 14 teams. 5/14 of their teams are ranked 50th or worst in team talent. We would love to play there. That was probably the SEC 20-30 years ago, but no longer.

To look at other SEC programs that have recruited in the 11-15 range - Florida, Auburn, A&M are all similar. Those 3 teams, plus us, have accounted for 30% of the division champions from the last 5 years (UF twice, Auburn once). Unfortunately, none of these 4 teams have won the conference, nor made the playoffs. It's a range of talent likely to reach the 2nd echelon, but not the top. Now, we could be the exception with Pruitt...sure. But if we are to increase our odds of getting over the hump, it will likely take an extra bump in recruiting either immediately or as soon as we show something on the field.

Adjusting for transfers, attrition elsewhere, et cetera, I think we probably had the #8 or #9 class last year. So far so good in my book.

Your right to an extent. If you're lucky enough to land the right QB the game changer can make up a lot of distance in a hurry ie Johnny football the type that nobody can contain or the man what another Manning.

My simplified version.

A good team = wins in the ACC
Wins = playoff = more commits.

A good team in the SEC = better luck next year.
