You're looking at it at a very surface level. There is more to the story. It really should be viewed as 2 schools. He only left Brainerd after CCS because he wouldn't be eligible for football. He HAD to transfer a second time if he wanted to play football. It's maybe fair to wonder why he didn't know that and consider it when he left CCS, but there could be a number of legitimate reasons for why he did a quick layover at Brainerd.3 high schools in 3 years.
He might start in Knoxville but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't end there.
I agree it's not the end all be all. But it does make me question jumping around. A lot of kids who do it in HS end up doing it in college.Your looking at it at a very surface level. I agree usually, but this situation isn't like most of those. He screwed up at CCS, which could be a red flag if he didn't learn a lesson. Leaving CCS wasn't entirely his decision. The stop at Brainerd could have always been temporary just until his family could figure things out (logistically, financially, etc) after the abrupt departure from CCS.I agree it's not the end all be all. Pretty sure he had a cousin that went to Brainerd and wanted to play basketball with him. It was most likely the easiest transition to make at the time for him and his family rather than transfer directly to Bradley in the middle of the school year and have to work out a transportation planYour looking at it at a very surface level. That's kind of what I was hinting at.Pretty sure he had a cousin that went to Brainerd and wanted to play basketball with him. Yet worse situations going for the past two years have produced amazing resultsI was actually extremely excited about Hyatt. I didn’t think he would have the type of season he did, and would torch Bama for 5 TDs, but I knew we had something with him solely off of his play late in 2021 and what we saw his freshman year. He also received a lot of praise from Golesh in the off-season as did both Jimmys. I think our top 4 this year are about the same as our top 4 last year and could potentially be better, but we only have 4 scholarship WRs on the roster with college experience. That is not what anyone would consider good depth by any stretch of the imagination
I love Heupel. I’ve loved him and since the opening drive of the Bowling Green game and knew we had something after the Pitt game. I think he has the potential to be one of the best college football coaches of this generation. Or he could be another Dan Mullen (an elite offensive mind that is as good as any coach in the country at doing more with less, but ultimately struggles to take a team all the way because of recruiting shortcomings and being unwilling to make the necessary staff adjustments to take the next step). I just think there are some things the staff needs to improve on, and I think him sprinkling a little more salesmanship into recruiting is one of them. Do they need to be Deion Sanders or Butch Jones and sell kids BS? Absolutely not, but there’s a medium of honesty/developing a friendly down to earth relationship and putting a fairly aggressive sales pitch on players that this staff seemingly hasn’t been able to find. This is by far the best staff we’ve had in over 20 years as far as being able to put together meaningful wins, but there are a lot of areas that need to be improved upon, and if they’re not improved upon last year is likely the ceiling. Pointing those areas out doesn’t mean someone disapproves of them as a whole though. Everyone thinks we should trust every evaluation they make, but they have made 3-4 really bad ones in their two years they’ve been here. Ask yourself where this program would be right now if Joe Milton doesn’t go down against Pitt and then whether or not this staff is 100% correct in their evaluations. Because without Hendon taking over we likely go 5-7 at best in year one and lose more guys to the portal and don’t do much better this past seasonYet worse situations going for the past two years have produced amazing results
Yhis staff knows how to develop players then put them in situations to succeed. You don’t like Heupel so you keep ignoring that fact

Sure. That’s why your drama queen comes out and you start calling him a failure any time something doesn’t go the Vols wayI love Heupel.
