I agree with all of this. It's also important to note that our staff doesn't have a bowl game to prepare for. It's nothing but recruiting 24/7 for the next 2+ months. That's going to show up in the final rankings.

Agree, on NSD 18, I predicted Top 5 for this year, let’s see how close it is. I bet it’s VERY close.

Would love to add Travon Walker. Would be huge.

My biggest wants are: Pappoe, Wright, Marshall, Norton, Eboigbe, Walker, and Haselwood. Those are big time players at positions of our biggest needs. I wish we could land all of them. If we did, top 5 would be possible. I just don’t see Walker, Marshall is possible but not likely, same with Eboigbe, Haselwood is an extreme long shot. Not even sure he’s visiting.

But if we landed all of them and Eric Gray, we’d have a top 5 class

Don’t look at the # that is still committed and calculate the # of spots left, there will be a couple positions to be upgraded. Of the 3 TN DL committed to Ga, one will not be going to Ga. also coaches have their own rankings, they don’t give a **** about recruiting rankings. Ga cut bait with 5 guys last December, not sure if Tn cuts that many but Tn is gaining momentum on the trail, unfortunately that is the norm rounding out a class. Prospects should always have a backup school just like coaches do.

Phillips is a GREAT individual...have no dislike for him at all. Personally, I think A. Taylor or B. Thompson were our best players on the field on Defense. But I wouldn't argue over it.

But the FACT remains that the "best" defensive player (Phillips) we had this year wouldn't even be good enough to get on the field for any of our teams from '93-'99 when we were competing for SEC crowns almost every year. And that's the point I was making... It's just the cold, hard truth.

The only reason I would be comfortable replacing Middleton is I have seen kids with his personality/attitude many times over the years and a 180 degree turn that remains consistent over multiple years is so rare. I know quite a bit of what went on over his HS years. Bottom line....I don't trust him to preform consistently and stay out of trouble for any extended length of time at UT.

He’s lazy and would show up out of shape without question. He’s gonna end up similar to Camion Patrick, except probably not as much trouble. Just seems he will never realize what he could be. He’d be a project and kids coming from JUCO as projects with only a few years to do something aren’t preferred. Norton is the same size as Middleton, has a higher motor, better character, is tougher and nastier than Middleton. Middleton at his best is the better prospect but seeing that from him since his sophomore year in HS has been few and far between. If he’s in the class it’s because Cox goes to Auburn and/or we don’t flip Norton, Logue, etc who are 6’6 270-285.
