'19 TN DL Bill Norton

Or maybe he cashes deep 3’s in anyone’s face

Although I agree the former is more likely

Show many on volnation cheered Brady Hoke when he was hired… He sucked at Michigan and was complete garbage

Hard to think a guy with his recruiting reputation would do something like this. It isn't like we knew it happened. It just goes to show he wasn't really planning on being here long term. He was clearly hoping for a 1 or 2 and done in a good way but ended up bad.

I thought it was a really good hire at the time. I wouldn't have wanted him as HC or even DC, but I was excited about him as D-line coach. He has a good reputation as a D-line coach and recruited really well at Michigan.

He clearly blew it with Norton though.

”coach pruitt said he wanted to play me in a basketball game — in a pickup basketball — and, if he beat me, then i’d have to commit,” norton said. “we were talking about basketball, and he was like, ‘you want to play some when you get here?’ i was like, ‘sure, i don’t care.’

“he was like, ‘how about we play a game? If i beat you, then you have to commit. If you win, then you don’t have to do anything.’ i was like, ‘that’s something new. All right.’”

norton said he doesn’t have any additional visits planned beyond his trip to tennessee this weekend, and he could decide on a college in the near future.

“i’m kind of ready to just decide,” he said. “but, also, senior year, i just kind of want to chill, just kind of not have to worry about that. I don’t know. It could be a little later than april. It could be the end of the summer more.”

Edit: apologies Ron, didn’t see you had already posted. :hi:
Still seems like good news for UT, same article you picked said he was down to UGA and UT and UGA was still in the lead, I think that changes this weekend. He was a UT lean before Hoke choked, think he wants to be at UT.

In-state defensive lineman Bill Norton will make his first trip to Tennessee since Orange Carpet Day last year. The 4-star prospect holds Georgia as his current leader, but UT’s new staff has worked overtime to repair the mishaps in Norton’s recruitment from the previous staff. With Norton nearing a decision, Saturday’s visit could go a long way in determining Tennessee’s chances to land a key in-state piece.

Secking knows if he made it in. He’s plugged in on all the recruiting sites.

Specifically one. I know guys from all 3. I’ve said before 3 sources, first being HS coaches-they love to gossip second being a few college coaches, one now being employed at UT now (you should be able to figure that one out) and lastly but probably biggest is I’m great friends with one of the major recruiting analysts. He trusts I won’t post stuff that I shouldn’t. :hi:

Honestly, the least trustworthy of the 3 is college coaches. Not because they are lying but more so being lied to. I can give multiple names where they told multiple coaches what they wanted to hear or actually told them they were committed. Derrick Brown comes to mind, Kyle Davis comes to mind, seems to be a theme with AU, they apparently like their prospects to ‘silently commit’ to other programs only to leave them high and dry. Gabe Wright ring a bell? Uh-huh. Keep that one in mind if it’s an UT vs AU battle.

Anyway, as posts for years acclaim, I like to see these guys do well. For some, it really is their only ticket, their lottery ticket if you will. I do try to give my honest take regardless of affiliation. I’ve mentioned many on here that was favorable to UT.

Some have said I have spent too much time here, probably true, but I read most boards in the SEC. Not much to during a chemo IV drip, passes the time. So, if I’ve annoyed anyone, apologies. I’ve always tried to bring info, good info, anytime I have it. :hi:
