Yeah I don’t think recruits are letting Pruitt sell them the dream the way they did Kiffin, Dooley and Butch in the early years. At least not at the moment.

Seems to me Pruitt has to win starting this year. He must know it with all the grad transfers.

Still early in the cycle and a lot can change. But that’s my hot take.

They haven't coached a game yet, relax bro, geez oh pete give em some time to prove themselves to these kids on the field. All these recruit's have ever heard from Tennessee is empty promises so they're gonna have to see results to back up the talk.

If Tennessee is attached to it, we suck at it right now...except softball...about to be #1 in country there.

Is it too early to start the VN trend of saying how this recruit wasn't that good anyway, and he will probably bust at UGA? (Blue font for those not so sarcastically inclined.)

Sadly before today I would argue with you. Instead I just liked your comment because it’s true...

We are not relevant to these young men. We are a mid teir program who loses in most big games minus a Hail Mary.

This year we change that though.

We have 1st year had coach with kids that don't fit his scheme at many positions. Expect us to struggle. This is going to be a three or four year rebuild...... If we have the right guy.

Go ahead and set unrealistic expectations, you'll only disappoint yourself.

I was afraid of this after seeing how we closed last year, early returns aren't promising so far. I think kids like Pruitt but this program is looked at as some kind of joke. Never thought I would ever speak those words, they hurt but they're true.

We have a real coach now. We will play tough I guarantee it. No offense my friend but if ole miss and miss state can make huge leaps with a good hire we can. To say that these past four recruiting classes can not step up with coaching is just plain negative thinking point blank period. No matter what color you paint it.

It took Ole Miss years of throwing money to bring in top talent. It took Miss St many years to build that team and a stroke of luck in a once in 20 year qb that would have never gone to Miss St in the past. We don't have that qb in our system.

We have holes at every position on offense. We have holes at most positions on defense. If Pruitt is a home run he may have us competing against GA and AL in three to four years, this is best case scenario IMO. Call it what you want but we aren't competing with GA or AL in the next couple of years.

I could be one of the best recruiters in the country at FSU and Bama right now. And Georgia as well for that matter. These guys better be able to coach or we will be looking again in four years. If that happens then we will not have a chance at a championship in my life time.

To add on to that Ole Miss comment. Does TN not have any bag men?

Nobody questions whether this team will play hard for Pruitt. The question is offensive talent or lack there of. Trey Smith is the only SEC caliber offensive lineman we have and it’s questionable if he will play.

Ole miss had marked improvement first year after going 0-8 and 2-10 year before and miss state barely had a better record than that. Hugh freeze came in first year with someone else’s recruits and won 7 games and took them to a bowl game. Same team that won two games and no SEC games just the season before.

My point is coaching matters more than anyone will admit on this board. We will have marked improvement because we are not being coachee by a lawyer or a Michigan P****e. We have a real ball coach that is going to hold these players accountable in the weight room and practice.

I will guess we win 7 maybe 8 with the bowl game. Which means a surprise win or two. That’s a claim you can feel comfortable with when you have a real coach to lead your team and these young men.
