Yeah. I gave you the very reason your comment was plain dumb. If he doesn't start building a competitive roster before 2023 then he will never survive to see it developed enough to compete. If he's going to succeed then he has to find under the radar HS guys, great JUCO's, and then play the portal. Fortunately, the brand of football he's playing and culture he's building will attract portal players since a lot of them have already been burned by the BS.

What you posted was dumb. The best two options you have right now are to simply back away from it or else to admit it was dumb. Everyone says things once in a while without thinking them through. Anything else just makes you look stubborn... and dumb.

I will say this sbout Nolen, I don't think he's a team guy. I still like him as a player, and honestly we need him, but he might not be a good fit for what we're building.

If we don't land him I'm not sure there's any way you could spin this recruiting class as anything but very sub-par. It would be further fodder for those who say Huepel can't recruit and make it even easier to negatively recruit against us. We need him for optics if nothing else.

Have a point. But a guy of Nolens caliber is a fit for ANY team in the nation. I mean what are we wanting to build? Some sort of high morality team that prides itself on character? Or are we trying to build a winning program? If you want to win, you want guys like Nolen. It’s that simple.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think that? I've seen nothing but the stuff a lot of high end guys do during recruitment. JW.

My point is we need guys who are going to come in, assimilate and play within the frame of this defense. How many highly rated guys have we recruited over the years that despite all their talent didn't put the skin in the game and work to succeed here?

Not saying there are character issues with the guy. Just saying the way this is shaping up the guy wants to play with a winner. We aren't, nor are we going to be for a few years. He doesn't want to build he wants to join. Not saying there is anything wrong with it as his choice, just what it is.

As in everything that happens in today’s world. Some want to work hard and help build something to be instill some pride. Others want to take the easy/ lazy road and live off of what others have done. W think he just might be one who wants to earn some pride in his accomplishments
